When I first flashed the rom I was able to get a broken landscape view - you can see this in the youtube videos as well - not a true landscape, but pretty much the portrait view squeezed on one side of the lanscape screen. You can confirm this with Juicy.

I don't get that anymore - that is what I am wondering about.

its something in your setup than. there is no landscape other than the music and photos tab. i just sat here and open and closed mine 20+ times and i got a black screen with the taskbars.

ive yet to see this phantom landscape you speak of and havent heard of any1 else experiencing this.

Well, I guess the next best thing would be to completely disable manila from going into landscape when sliding out the keyboard - I'd rather have it stay in portrait than go black every time I open it (ie to type something in the internet tab search bar).

Any way to do this?

+1 That would be great this way we could still use the keyboard

To be fair - I got this on R5 every time I slid to the KB - it would take the home tab and smash basically cut off the display much like it does to iGo8 when you switch it to landscape when it was opened in portrait, it didn't scale just rotate and cut it off. I could then "switch" tabs by swiping but the GUI would not update until I went back to portrait.

This was a pretty "bare bones" R5 rom - no tweaks or customizations installed.

just an fyi, myphone needs an update since r5. Newest myphone for touchscreens can be found here.

Other areas of interest

Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2 is out and works with manilla

http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl...yes&sub=marine

and an expansion of network selection would be nice to force roaming, though that can be added with a simple .reg file.

Anyone have a quick fix for this? This is the only major issue that is effecting me. Speed on this ROM is blistering. Nice job Juicy.

Try this,

Using a registry editor goto HKLM/SOFTWARE/Arcsoft/Arcsoft MMS/UA/Config/UI

Find EnableServerEdit and change it to "1"

I did a hard reset and restored everything from sprite and the phone still doesn't ring. I am so fed up at this point...hours on this and still no ring. Anyone? Juicy?

How about you hard reset and try to see if the ring works then. Something is making your phone do this. Its not the rom.

Does removing manila tabs help with performance/ram?
