Voice command is acting a little bit odd, which it did not do on 6.1 stock. Not a major issue, but it is curious.

When VC reads a text message to me, it goes back and forth between headset and phone speaker. Most of the msg comes thru the headset but a syllable or two come thru the phone's speaker, then back to the headset for a few words, then back to the speaker for a syllable or two, then back to the headset for a few words.

As indicated in my profile, I'm on FF. Running "stock" except I have loaded shake 'n save, threaded MMS, and AIM Mobile v2.2. Trying to run "stock" for a little while so I can test FF before loading it up with a bunch of stuff that is sure to mess it up. :disgust:

I have set VC to send all notifications thru my BT headset, using Settings>Other>Voice Command>Notiifications, and choosing "Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free only"

Of course, we know VC has other problems which are beyond the scope of this thread, but this issue I am talking about did not exist in 6.1. I never had 6.5 installed, so I don't know how VC acts there. I may have to go to OF to find out. But it isn't enough to get me to change away from 6.5.5.

Curious if anyone else has had this happen, and, if so, has a solution.

wait, VC will read SMS? damn, wish I knew that earlier

I added the last file operation and the last 7 reg_edits

I look at that. None of those really increase performance.

So in order:
1) Stopping HTC Sense from starting up...
2) Stopping Pocket Outlook from starting up (exchange won't work most likely)
3)Comm Manager. Doesn't something (maybe auto-downloads) stop working...
4) FTP Server - thats a custom proggie... can't help you there.
5) Keyboard repeat rate...preference...
6) Backlight to 10 secs, not really a big thing, default is 30 secs
7) Changing weather to Fahrenheit, setting stock and weather auto-downloads up.
8) Adding Opera to exclusive list in TM....really, I like mine visible.
9) More stuff about the taskmanager and terminating different process....not much of a performance gain.
10) Clock settings, personal preference.
11) Slidewakeup - good for that magnet case....fine, thats ok.
12) Homepage defaults...yeah.
13) I think this is default already...
14) Cooked in (I think)
15) Yeah, I don't know how this effects it, never seen this one before, but messing with gwes is always a good thing...
16) - 19) preference...
20) cooked in.

is there anything special I have to do to get it to read SMS?

In VC, I set Notifications to "Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free only" but when I get a text message, it's not read. I know the BT headset I have is about 3 or 4 years old...it's a Jabra BT125. I'm using the MightyROM FF right now.

Can you be a little bit more specific as to who you are talking too?

I believe VC will only read High priority text messages.. give it a try and text yourself and place a high priority to it.

There is also a reg tweak you can do, I think its in the TP Essential forum. or search for Voice command registry tweak. it should pop up.

No...in the options un-check "high priority messages only".....then it will read all of them...
