I do believe you are correct! He was also the dude that gave me the confidence to get started cooking. :headbang:

Yes please. I'm still using the 6.5 builds, so I'd appreciate more taskbar options, especially if they're already in good EXT format.

Thanks!
Kevin

have you been able to fix mobile shell in the kitchen??? a lot of the icons are wrong/missing.
if I have time tonight, i'll give your ROM a go. last night at work was insane.

If you check my sig I cook SPB Roms and I have had this problem from the start with the Settings -> icons being empty or missing icons. This is due to some weird entries in the reg that correspond to an index file on your rom that is different for all roms/phones. I was using a EXT i got from PPCKitchen before groove released his to the public but he was the first to get a nicely working WVGA version. I flashed his when he released but unfortunately I too had the icon problems and could never figure it out till now. What I do for my roms is I will cook a titanium rom, install MS from cab and whatever tweaks I add to the filesystem and registry is all exported easily, this is how I corrected for my personal rom which carried to a public rom.

1. Zip up your SPB Mobile Shell folder from Program Files.
2. Use a reg editor to export all SPB keys from Reg. (HKLM\Software\SPB software house\ and softhouse2\)
3. Create an App.dat to move all the files to the Program Files\ dir,
4. Take your 2 reg exports and combine them into app.reg
5. Unzip SPB Mobile Shell.zip from earlier to files folder, (Make sure to remove the "File.exe" that has a module in the main SPB EXT folder.
6. Name the folder zz_YourMSLayout
7. Place this new EXT in the same folder as your MS EXT from groove or calc.
P.S I find it easier to use a trial of WinCE Cab Manager and creating my own custom cab via the drag on drop of foler feature and import the reg file, this creates your own custom cab. : Benefit? You use a Package Convert app to make your package from the cab, this will auto create your app.dat.

I fixed the Bluetooth one that was missing ... I actually used/edited Groove's EXT and it seemed more "original" if that makes sense. I really will appreciate your feedback!

I can offer some help with your rom when I get time I will flash and see what you have.

Yes Its funny I was always a personal cook and I had a love for mobile shell but no one would cook a rom, I was stuggling to get it working on my own using a EXT from PPCKitcen and Inda was kind enough to help me out an let me use his EXT from there though I had to correct for my Use as described above to get it to play nice in my rom with the correct settings icon layout.

rstoyguy I believe was the first to get this cooked back in the TP days.

I know all about that all I cook is SPB roms and it is a sh*t task to get everything perfect. Many hours of minor layout tweaks and perfection can make you go crazy.

thanks formula 84. looks very complicated. I was thinking it was just the app.reg that needed to be altered to make it work right.
I'll give it a deeper look when i get some free time.

Okay guys, here is my task bar. Just drop the files as is into your Shared Ext section of the kitchen.

Due to the rapidly changing nature of the HTC Volume Control, I did not include it. However, all you need to do is include this key in your volume control App.reg:

Quote:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay]
"LoadIconFromResDLL"=dword:00000001
Enjoy!
