lo and behold, removed 2016 sms from tweaks and texts come through, from 2016, but I am getting there lol.. cooking one with my own 2106 workaround instead of the official HTC one.

lmao. no problem. to tell the phone to use its time to timestamp messages (and therefor eliminate the 2016 bug, add these regs: (I added then to 09_registry\RZ_SMS):

ty sir. couldnt figure out why the cab wouldnt work though. its odd

its because there was no keymap file in the cab, just the reg that told the system which kmap file to use. since the vzw kmap txt was not present, it did nothing. my ext contains the kmap file and the registry entry to support it. mikes ROM must come preloaded with the keymap files and he uses cabs to point to them.
