Yep thats the way I usually do it as well... I've had a cab for it since i've used 2.5.. I'll attach it. But it will go away once you change the wallpaper. The other option is to just select your normal wallpaper through the animated selection, that'll fix ya up too.!

I never install prl or profile updates(not needed for any rom).... provisioning is all you need to do....so if you installed it....uninstall it and soft reset you should be good....
