With this ROM, is there a way to separate out notification sounds for text messages and emails, or does it stay combined?

As kaaniz states in his reply, it is easy to assign separate sounds to pretty much all you system events. Now all you need is a good stockpile of sounds. I use a software program named Audacity which can be downloaded free and installed on your computer. With it, you can cut out short snippets of some of your favorite sounds to be used for system events. After cutting out the part of the song you want to use, copy it over to your phone and place it into your My Ringtones folder.

As for a text messaging program, the first thing I load onto any new ROM build is Vito's SMS-Chat. If for some reason this program doesn't work on the ROM build I just flashed, I move on to something else without even loading anything else on my phone. I like it THAT much. All of this talk about Windows text messaging and HTC text messaging I just skip right over because I KNOW I'll be using SMS-Chat anyway. It's not free, but it is the best $14.95 I have ever spent on my phone.

I went to the settings tab and tried to change it there ... Then, I went to sounds and notifications and wondered why there weren't options for other sounds, totally missing the dropdown box that has ALWAYS been there ...
