I am highly inclined to just keep my TP2, but any of these phones make you guys want to upgrade? If so, why? Thanks.

I bought EVO for my wife few days ago.So far Im impressed (wide screen, live wallpapers,4G speed,footprints)....
But I will keep my TP2,because I can flash it with my ROMs :)

Running latest 28244 rom and am loving it. Some have complained about Cookie 2.0 draining battery compared to 1.8.5 version but I cannot confirm that problem. Has anyone seen any battery drain from latest Cookie or is all well and thanks.

Congratulations Vin, the EVO is sweet, and especially if you're normally in 4G coverage. I'm a fan of the larger screen and live wallpapers too. Then, there's the market with all those fresh apps and games, as well as all the custom 2.2+ builds available. My favorite android build for the HD2 now is an EVO Sense based release called Core Droid by Sergio76 over at xda. That said, I can only imagine how well a custom 2.2 build would run on the EVO. Anyway, to your question, there are some animated wallpapers for WM based Sense, but nothing like the quality or selection available with Android.

Here are a couple links that you're most likely aware of already:

are custom animated wallpapers possible? - xda-developers

Best to all,

If you can get your work to swing an EVO or Epic, either would be an excellent choice today. And, don't get my wrong, I still am a big fan of the TP2 for my work needs, due to its keyboard, stylus use, WM specific invoice and other software, as well as Vin's very kind ROM releases. Nonetheless, the TP2 is over a year old now, and its RAM, CPU, GPU specs are weak when compared to what's available today, or even when compared to the eight plus month old HD2 release.

I've run both, and haven't noticed much difference in battery drain. That said, I have always kept the number of screens, levels, and links low on the TP2 for performance, even when overclocked.

Hehehe, I know the feeling... Angry Birds, NFS Shift, Blow Up, Wings of Steel, and Hungry Shark, all have been ridiculous time suckers here. D'oh! In turn, I've had to add them to my ever growing list of nasty habits, or as I also like to say: guilty pleasures, lol...

As far as Vin modding kernels and builds, I'd really like to see that too, for the EVO or Epic or HD2 or all three, lol... On that note, darren, has 2.2 hit the Epic yet? If so, I would guess it just flat out flies, especially combined with that GPU.

Best to all,
R

I am on 28244 ROM. After read your post, I ran simulation on iGo8 and Navigon on my TP2. Both TTS work fine. After the simulation run at home, I have about 40MB free ROM and 155 free RAM. The free ROM and free RAM should be higher right after boot up my TP2.

You two may have installed too much stuff and have low free RAM.

LW123 - Are you using the 28244 w/out sense and titanium or with?

Running into MMS issues with VZW. Any thoughts on the fix?
I flashed 28244 no sense or titanium, hard reset, provision by *228 and then ran imnuts threaded VZW cab.
