Okay, I was the guinea pig...loaded cab, and could no longer swipe down to bring up quicktabs!!

Thanks for the try!!

Edit: FYI, just uninstalled and no damage done.

I've noticed that the modes can affect speed...and generally, the more graphically intense images tend to slow things down. Try setting "tab" backgrounds to something complex, cruise around; then set it to something very simple (like a black background), and cruise around. You'll notice a difference.

Actually I've been using either black or "wall 5" which is kind of a textured black background.
For me it seems like there's more lag, for instance when I slide over to the weather (or any other slider option) it takes a second before the icons appear. Don't know if it's just my imagination or what

Apparently, Vindows isn't the only ROM feeling it.

Okay, I just checked two TP2s...1.8.5 cabbed and cooked. Side by side, they are identical speed-wise between tabs. But I do notice a slightly slower switch [edit: on cab'd version] when displaying quicklinks (I have mine hidden.)

Yeah, 1.8.5 does seem a little slower, but I'm not sure if that was done to make the UI more "smooth." It's not that much slower for me, so no complaints yet with what I've seen so far. <shrug>

If you're seriously into big dialers, check out this thread if you haven't already. To me, that has always been one area where Windows Mobile is very lacking. I've never understood why we have this great big display, and they only use the bottom 40% of it for the dial pad numbers.
Also, why not use this big beautiful screen for larger caller ID pictures? This software gives you both. I know, we all get spoiled to our chefs giving us incredible work for free, and after a 15 day free trial, you are required to pay and register to keep using it, but at least to me, I found it worth the cost after trying it out. Your mileage may vary . . .

thanks given to both of y'all. I will check this out. I have no problems paying for good software, so price isn't a problem. Just whether it is worth it. I am using a 3.40 Cmylxgo skinned one from calk's kitchen right now. I was just looking for some new skins, but if this has some skins already made, I'll check it out while waiting on these new xl skins that vin is promising.
I've tried the 4.2 sprint 6.5 based dialers and they're purty, but I can't stand the small buttons after a couple of days.

dude, do I have a stalker???:silent:

trying it now. Gonna check on skins, kinda plain standard, I will say it is an improvement over wm stock, but either below or equal to mobile shell's contacts favorites.
