Tap and hold the icon until the option "Move to Top" appears. This process is kind of irritating because you can only do one at a time, and you have to think several moves ahead (if you want icon A to be in the fourth slot, you need to move it first, then the next three you want before it). An alternative is a program called re/start, which shows a list of the icons and folders and allows you to change the order.

Dragging them around is only an option with the 6.5.x builds.

Thanks. That helps. I'll just have to work on the order thing.

I went to try this registry change, but it is already set to that, so does not help. So I guess I will just have to live with the black square instead of a speaker icon for now :(

Yes, maybe the Dusk taskbars might work, but I want full color icons like on tsowens bar. Otherwise, why have a 65000 color screen, if you are just using B&W taskbar and sliders?

One thing I just DID notice the other day during a soft reset though - right after the red Verizon animated screen and just as the upper/lower taskbars appeared, the speaker icon DOES appear for a brief moment! But then turns into the black box. Maybe it might have something to do with the VZW OS rewriting the registry as mentioned before?

Another odd thing happened now too. When installing the very latest SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.3, which is for WM 6.5, after I changed the wallpaper, the task manager icon in the upper right corner disapeared. This only happens when I load up SPB Mobile shell though. Weird.

To the one poster some pages back asking about using SPB Backup to restore on a new 6.5 flash, and did not want to flash to the new 6.5 because he did not want to redo all his contacts over again....... why are you not using the free MS MYPhone program??? It will restore ALL your contacts just fine! Works like a charm. My only complaint is that it only restores Internet Explorer's favorites, and not all my Opera links. But the new Explorer is soooo way much better than the old one, so not that big a deal.

As to the animated wallpaper for weather? I mentioned earlier the one cab I am using, and it works just great! So much so, I freaked for a second when my whole home screen was "wet" with rain and I forgot about the new animations. And this was not using the stock wallpaper either. Even worked for snow, as I set the location for Chicago, which has snow right now. And it even frosted the screen edges just like manila 2.5 did on the MM roms.

Now. I would not mind going back to a MightyMike rom again (I feel his are the best and most stable), but untill there is a way to reinstall my (paid for) VZ Navigator program, and be able to view the special VZW website for apps and such, I sort of have to stick with this stock rom for now.

This rom rocks

Ok guys i rely on my phone as my internet connection for my house. I use it for my 2 laptops desktop and my ps3. I could never seem to get more than about 50 kb/s download speed. I have flashed many radios on this phone as well as the original touch pro. I decided to update to this because it had a new radio. Well to say the least i am downloading at 150 kb/s consistent. I have about a 1.3 mb connection with 100 ms ping. We need to find a way to keep this radio or flash to it so we can use custom roms cause as of now im using this rom.

Here's the deal with the taskbars on a VZ system. At least under VZ's 6.1, the .dll that contained the icons for the speaker volume was coded differently than for Sprint. Basically, the pointers in the file were incorrect, so any of the commonly available taskbars that work for Sprint users won't work for Verizon users, volume control icon-wise. I'm presuming the same thing is happening under 6.5.

I have my speaker icon showing just fine all the time. The thing I find odd is that the Windows Start icon is all white now and I can't get any color in it at all. anyone else seeing this?

I want to move some of the new ones I added to the top of the list (honeycomb) so I don't have to keep scrolling all the way down. I am not using sense or touchflo because I have a large number of appointments everyday and want to see them all, not just two or three.
Thanks in advance.

There is a program over at xda forums called reStart that I have been using to re-organize the start menu, it is a lot easier than trying to figure out the 6.5 method on the phone.

The link to download it is at eh bottom of the first post.

That is the way it looks in 6.5. You can download a custom taskbar to change it. Its not a glitch or anything like that.

Re: Verizon OEM Update

Hello hope this helps someone,
for taskbar icons I used: Tsowen's Taskbar_v3
along with: KD Mod to Tsowens
first I had to install: sdkcerts
I cant post links but you may be able to find it by searching.
They look great and are very colorful!

My question for all of you is,
Was anyone able to skin the stock dialer?
I think it too is different from others (sprint) like the taskbar?
When I skin the dialer the "keypad" section is about 1/4 inch too high!

TIA for any help.

Flashing custom roms does not change the radio. After flashing just look at the screen on boot up that shows the radio version and it will show this one.
