Hey, I was wondering if you guys could tell me if this is likely the right ROM for me?

I'm looking for a ROM with bottom buttons (so WM 6.5.1 or higher) with Sense 2.5 with minimal post install tweaking needed. I'd like for the ROM not to have too crazy or garish a theme, and I want a ROM where the chef is responsive to the forum and releases updates fairly often to fix bugs that are identified, and to integrate new improvements developed by the scene.

Ideally, I'd like the chef to be making ROMs only for the Sprint Touch Pro 2, and ideally only for the WM 6.5.1+ S2.5 build, but I'm flexible on this since I realize that's pretty specific. The reason for this is that I find when chefs (like the big name brand ROMs) become involved with too many different builds, the number of bugs that end up hanging around for a long time shoots way up, and the amount of care that goes into the build that I care about goes way down, with lots of fixes that have to be applied for users on different carriers than they're on.

I've looked around, and Medium Hill seems to be the best fit for my criteria I've managed to find. Does this sound right to everyone, or is there something I'm overlooking, either about this ROM or about another ROM I might have overlooked?

I realize this ROM is available in both 6.5/6.5.1+ builds, and Sense/Titanium builds, but if that's the only issue that's not too far off considering the chef is on Sprint with a Touch Pro 2.

Edit: Oh, and no MaxManila as well is nice, in my brief experience with it, it seemed buggy and full of unintuitive gestures that just had to be looked up or memorized.

Your in the right place.

dibbson, test rom 2-6 going ok. Location button in manilla is not working. Missing icon on StopWatch program. I can't get showcase to run for some reason.

yeah, i haven't gotten to the location button and active sync button on the htc settings tab yet. Been trying to hammer out this UC app, and the last thing is killing me on this thing, stupid netcf. I'm running the same rom, and just tried the showcase and it didn't open for me either, weird cuz kwchan reported it working earlier on the same rom we are running.

Ok, well it isn't the official update, but i do have a TEST ROM for you in the flavor of Sprint/6.5/Sense 2.1/MMS settings preinstalled. Thought i would test one before i do the final updates as people have wanted a 2.1 in the past. This is for Sprint only right now for the test, and please give it time to fully boot as it may look like its hung but let it sit there, this manila for some reason takes awhile to load initially on first boot.

i have never used Bing... ever, but i put it in do to the requests of a few people. So i'm really not sure how it's supposed to work. If it's not working right, i will see if i can find another package or take it out.

Is the 2/2 build 2.5/23519 build freezing for anyone on the bootup after provisioning on install? I redownloaded and reflashed, trying both from USB and SD, and still have that happen. After I take out the battery, it starts normally from there.

Haven't had the UC freeze, sometimes it takes a few seconds to alow you to select the carrier. Since your Sprint i just uploaded a sprint specific Sense 2.1 Test ROM, been running great so far for me today. See this post http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=1194

It's not actually in the UC, it's at the parting where it says it's starting Launching HTC Sense and then it just hangs there. I left it like that for more than 10 minutes and it didn't change, plus it was unresponsive to the power button.

Oddly enough I just ran into that problem again, but this time on a boot after Manila crashed. I took a call, and then couldn't get out of the dialer back into Manila, only things that responded were the hard keys. Could use the Windows one to get into the Start Menu, but couldn't get back to Manila from there. Rebooted and it hung. Another reboot and it seems to be okay for now.

I'm a big fan of Manila 2.5, I'd really like to be able to stick with it if possible, but thanks.
