[02-08-10][6.1] Lead ROM v4

1 Attachment(s)
Hey folks, I made myself a 6.1 ROM since most of the Chefs have stopped support for it. I have been using it and tested it for a few weeks now, and it seems solid to me. Just thought I'd share.

Positive feedback and THANKS are always appreciated. You can also DONATE to keep me motivated. :D

-16 MB Pagepool
-Manila 1.2, NOT 2.1
-This should look HTC Stock with "Green" being main theming.
-I built it with packages compiled from xda and here, and my customizations.
-Meant as an everyday use ROM. (I usually test it before posting a release.)
-Of course, your phone needs to be unlocked before attempting to flash this.
-Though this ROM should work on other Carriers as well, I'm on Sprint, so I wouldn't know.

Code:

Changes in v4:
˄ Fixed buggy drivers, upgraded some, and finalized all
˅ Downgraded and redid Comm Manager settings for stability
= Made Opera 9.5 uninstallable (For those of you who want to install newer builds)
+ Added better and more accurate battery icon
+ Changed signal icons to 5 bar, better, HTC stock lookin' ones
= Attempted to fix iGO 8 TTS speech (If all else fails, you can disable Manila to get it to work.)
+ Added some flash support to Opera
˄ Improved YouTube playback
= Some other things I forget now
Changes in v3:
= Upgraded build to 21055 ported from GSM devices (From XDA)
+ My T9 Words link, so you can edit your T9 words
+ Added Bing search
+ Added Wifi-Internet Sharing and New Comm Manager
+ Kinetic Flick scrolling in Contacts app
+ Newer Teeter
+ OBEX Inbox for better Bluetooth file sharing
+ A-GPS working with Google Maps
+ Fixed NFS Game not loading
+ Many other stability fixes
= Still looks stock and runs stable as ever.
--------------------
= Sprint MR build 21054.1.6.7

I give credit to all the chefs on this forum for inspiring me to cook my own ROM. and as a given, please don't blame me for anything that happens to your phone as a result of flashing this ROM.

Sprint people should use the attached cab to get the PRL update, Profile update icons.

THIS ROM IS NOT SUPPORTED BY ME ANY LONGER, EXCEPT MAYBE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DONATED.

Cab Extras

6 Attachment(s)
These cabs are extras that aren't needed to run the ROM, but are just there for your liking. :D (HIT THANKS PLEASE!)

Manila Calendar Tab - An awesome member at XDA made this homebrew tab. It's NOT the HTC tab, like in the newer manilas.
Google Maps 3.2.1 - Google changed the A-GPS structure in the newer version of the Maps app, so A-GPS doesn't work as well. It works best in this version.
In-Call Recording - This is the In-call recording plug-in to the phone canvas dialer. It actually works and also enables you to record with the notes app (due to the newer wavedev.dll). The only problem with it is, it causes stylus detection to break. I can't fix this and don't plan to. If you don't care about your phone detecting when your stylus is in or out, then you can go right ahead and install this!
Sprint Navigation - SPRINT USERS ONLY- If you have the plan for it, then use this. I like Garmin and iGO8 better though, no plan needed, no service needed, so it's a one-time fee on those.
Sprint TV - SPRINT USERS ONLY - If you have the plan and stuff...
Sprint Mobile Email - MIGHT WORK FOR NON-SPRINT USERS - This application runs in the background and lets you set up one personal email account to have push-like email sent straight to your phone. The way it works: This is a Sprintified version of SEVEN and has the server send an invisible text to your phone that tells it to send/receive when you get new email. It only does text emails and it doesn't require you to have the data connection on at all times like outlook push.

Re: [12-01-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom

Thanks! I think I've grown tired of my phone breaking when I want to just answer the phone sometimes. Back to the basics of sorts for me so I can get off my work iphone.

Upgraded to v3, much more stable and just better!

Re: [12-13-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom (Lead ROM?)

Nice, i was beginning to think i was the only one who still liked 6.1. I've literally flashed every rom available the last few months but keep going back to stock with tweaks or other versions of 6.1, they seem to be the most reliable and fastest. Currently I'm running Silence/Mighty rom build 21051 with a few tweaks for personal taste, but I'll be sure to give yours a shot. Thanks.

Thanks, I hate how slow the 6.5 roms are.

Hey leadpoizon

2 things about ROM

on your first release I was able to install igo8, and text to speech worked,
with this new release text to speech will not work, so something was left out, text to speech does work with HTC stock ROM, so something changed,

Also wasn't there a calendar in the manila 1.2 ?

Thanks lionedas

Hmm, I'll look in to it, thanks for letting me know. As for 1.2: It does NOT contain the calendar. It's actually the version that is originally meant for the Touch Pro/Diamond, without a calendar tab. There was a calendar tab that someone at xda came out with, but it's not the manila calendar. You can get a working profile manager tab, and call history tab, though (Ported from HD, i think). Remember, the more tabs, the more memory it'll take up. TF3D is already quite the memory hog.

Re: [12-13-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom (Lead ROM?)

I have been working on an updated version of the ROM, and if people are interested enough, i'll release it. Here's what I have in it so far:

+ Opera Mobile 9.7 fully integrated in Manila 1.2 and themed to match.
- Taking out kinetic scrolling for the few apps that have it. (Seems it's causing more harm than help.)
+ More accurate WHITE battery meter
+ Nicer Stock HTC-lookin' 5 level signal bars.

Hit THANKS please, or I won't know. ;D

Re: [12-13-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom (Lead ROM?)

Thanks leadpoizon

I'm a big fan of 6.1 I tried 6.5 for a bit but I noticed that it was a memory hog, ran a bit slower, and some of my apps were not working with it, so I gave up on it for the time being.

I flashed your ROM for everyday use, I like the green menus,
after a clean flash, I add Tsowen task bar, Music id, grovefish, and igo8,

Transparent sliding menu buttons on main screen would be nice,
finding out why igo8 text to speech stopped working would be another
and having a calendar would be about the only things I would change on the setup.

Thanks again

I'll look into the other stuff, you said, but here's the Calendar tab by D-MAN666 over at XDA. This is as good as it gets, because this version does not support the HTC Calendar. (Use Advanced Config to change the tab order.)

Re: [12-13-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom (Lead ROM?)

I would have to admit that this Rom has been a breath of fresh air! I have tried many of the 6.5 Roms and always enjoy trying something on the cutting edge; however, I have recently begun to run this Rom as my everyday use rom and have been very impressed (not that I am someone anyone was aiming to impress, but I have been anyway).

Just wanted to say thank you leadpoizon for putting out a quality 6.1 Rom! Now I can enjoy using the phone without the delays and hiccups found in the 6.5 Roms.

I will certainly hit thanks about the updated Rom.

Re: [12-13-09][6.1] Anonymous Rom (Lead ROM?)

Here's what I have so far on the Updates to come:

+ Updated drivers
= Decided to keep kinetic scrolling (I wonder if anyone even likes it, haha. I do.)
+ Perfected Internet Sharing with Sprint
- Cleaned up Phone Settings menu in Comm Manager a bit.

I will be using Post #3 for a few cabs that I'm soon going to put up. Like:

~ In call-recording perfected and working. (Though, there is still one small bug, which is why I don't build it in.)
~ Profiles Tab for Manila.
~ Add the Calendar Tab to post #3
~ Transparent bottom curtain for Manila.
~ Transparent top Curtain for Manila.
~ Google Maps 3.2.1 which seems to work perfectly with A-GPS. (The newer version with Starring doesn't work well with A-GPS)

I usually make a custom build with Sprint Carrier settings built-in for myself, and this one is specifically for you peeps, so holla' if you need anything.

Just testing it out for stability and such until I release it!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/Screen01.png

@lionedas: I hope the calendar tab works out for you. It's hard to make the bottom curtain transparent only in home tab, because it conflicts with the 'background on all tabs' mod. I have updated the drivers on this one, so I hope IGO works for you when I release it. I don't have it myself (I use Garmin Mobile XT.), so I can't test it.

Leadpoizon

Transparent in all background tabs is great if you can get it to work.
I have run Garmin also, they dont have as many poi's as igo, but it still is a nice app. You must try igo8 though!

Hmm, from what I remember, it should be there. Once you hit the "Add Location" option, Find New York, then find New York again. I'm using the North American Weather Database V5 by conflipper, in this ROM.

new to flashing (heh) but i've tried three energyroms, and yours beats all three of the ones i've tried, by far.

rom is fast and stable, no glitchy feelings.

Thank you!

Thanks Lead, I may try going back to 6.1. I have tried numerous ROMs on my TP and think that the 6.1s run faster.
