In every previous rom that I've used there has been a little 3-4 line(horizontal) box located in the upper right hand corner in the task bar. It wasn't a large program.

Once clicked on a small list dropped down showing what programs are open and how much processor power is being used (as a percentage). It didn't open a whole program, just a little drop down.

This is what I've been missing in this rom. I realize its not much but I've used it to switch between programs. Like when I've closed my RSS hub to check a text message. Then, instead of opening up a whole program I just tap in the upper right hand corner, check the drop down and tap the currently running RSS hub again.

The only reaons I'm harping on this is because until this point I've taken it for granted as being standard in every ROM to date.

The quick menu is the closest thing I've found to this, but after several days of testing its proven to be less finger friendly than what I'm describing. Also, more importantly many times, tapping the TINY "x" in quick menu doesn't close the program (even the "close all programs" won't always shut the programs down).

Hence, I care less about the full blown task manager programs and all I really am looking for is a the really light weight function I've described.

I'll be honest, I'd pay Josh H. something to get this feature, because with this feature I'd have THE most stable ROM I've ever used to date.

Its a small thing, but sometimes the devil is in the details and that's true here for me.

AHAHAHA!

You're absolutely right that is something I should do...oh wait...I've BEEN doing that...

Now do you actually have a contribution to make? Where you trying to point me to something I missed?

Because otherwise, my cynical side would start thinking that maybe you're just being a jerk.

No...he's being a jerk. What you're describing is exactly what is currently missing from this ROM. Yes...I know the horse is dead and we're all having our fun kicking it, but it is something I miss...a lot...mostly when using programs that access GPS because not always does hitting the now very large "X" on the bottom actually close the app. Also, I don't always know the name of the process I'm looking to kill, so using a task manager of sorts isn't a good fix for me. And, as you had said, I too would be willing to pay Josh money for a fix for this. The ROM is, as I've stated before, and many others have, THE best ROM I've ever used...hands down...and I'm out of hands!

Wink Re: EmpiROM - Featuring TellMe & WM6.5.1 - Fast, Stable, Sleek. For Touch Pro.

This might be the solution to the taskmanager woes!!!!!

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...-showcase.html

The software is called "Showcase" and so far it does EXACLTY what I want! Its fast, its light weight, it shows the apps open, the processor work load, its finger friendly and it can be set to open by simply tapping in the upper left hand corner on the digital clock!

PLUS, its free.

Seriously I think this is what I've been whining about since the beginning.
Here is the Youtube Vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dw_A...layer_embedded

To get the little icon to disappear in the right hand corner you need to open showcase up and check the "hide homescreen Icon" box. Otherwise the little square icon will overlap the digital clock and it looks a little fugly.

Then in showcase, after checking the "hide homescreen" box, simply click "start X enhancement" and you should be golden....

It seems to be using very little processing power itself and its crazy fast. Much faster than actually having to open up any of the afore mentioned task managers although its on par with "quick menu".

However, its infinitely more finger friendly than quick menu so for me its a real winner.

If this thing really does work then I think the Empi Rom + "Showcase" = Winner!
