I can completely add the contact to the desktop. I click on the plus sign, choose contact, pick contact out of the list, verify the phone number i want, and when Im done, the contact pic appears on the desktop, just like it should. When I then click on the contact, a little box pops up giving me the option to call, send sms, send mms. When I chose any of them, the box goes away like i made a choice, just nothing else happens. The phone call is never made or the text sent. the phone or messaging apps do not open... nothing. I am back at the main desktop like i never did anything...

Thanks to every one that tried to help. I followed longhorn's link for support in the first page of this forum and have found an acknowledgment of the issue and a temporary workaround. I hope this helps anyone having the same issue I am having with Contacts in Androkkid. Here is the link to the forum:

Here is the reply I received to my post with the workaround in it:

Hi, I have a problem with with contacts added to the desktop. When I click on them, the options to call, sms, or mms pop up but when I click on an option, nothing happens. Any ideas? Im using the Longhorn Rom, build 23502 for TF3D on a Sprint HTC Touch Pro. The ROM chef claims his works fine on both the Standard version and the Titanium version.

Simo has acknowledged that there is an issue with the contact menu, at least for some. If you go into settings & shut off contact menus, your contact shortcuts should work fine for calling. But be sure that the phone numbers have only numbers. No separators of any kind, including spaces.

LONGHORN: GREAT ROM! I HAVE USED SOME GREAT ROMS FROM GREAT CHEFS INCLUDING MIGHTYROM, INDAGROOVES, REFLECTIONIST, PHOTON, SOME MULTIMEDIA SUPER DUPER ROM (FROM SOMEONE NAMED TECH1 WHICH IS BANNED HERE?), AND A FEW OTHERS THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER, AND YOUR ROM IS THE BEST, FASTEST, AND SO FAR MOST STABLE ONE I HAVE USED. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! WE ALL THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.

Re: [10/27/09] Longhorn ROM 23502 and 23081

I loved this ROM but had a major problem this morning. I think I was on the 235XX ROM only one day.
Last night I set the alarm but never heard it this morning. Worse yet was the fact that the phone function was not working. I press phone softkey or select it from programs and nothing would happen. Also, all my contacts are gone. Seems like poutlook died or crash or something. Calendar does not work either.
I tried switching off TF2D but that did not help.
Any ideas what happened? Should I try the 23081 ROM?

Thanks,
tsp

Maybe the problem was when I first booted up it failed about 4 times. I had to soft reset several times. It never fully came up but I did a hard reset and it booted fine.

The phone is coming up right now on the 23081 ROM. So far so good but it's on boot mode.
