i still want to change rom version from 1.03 the xipport then raid said to use never saved it.

well you could I guess convert the xip to VK style and then load up a VK and use xipporterex in there. I am pretty sure you do not need to actually port the xip..

another kinda hackerish (and potentially catastrophic) way would be to use a hex editor.. open up os.nb.payload in a hex editor (I provide xvi32 in tools) and search for 1.03, it will be the second one... address 324600

note: replace until you reach the end of what is already there. after that position I would switch to insert..

the start menu background is just the today screen background, it is in flamerise.tsk inside calkulin flamerise, open the tsk just like a cab.

have to edit the flamerise.tsk with a cab editor is what raid told me to do.
