Cellular South Shipped ROM with Updated radio
 

Here is a link for a new Cellular South Shipped Touch Pro ROM. It has a new PPST 2.02 version. The radio is newer then the latest alltel TP rom. This should work fine for all generic releases and everything else.

its good to see a small carrier getting this though. haha. Enjoy your downloads.

since u mentioned updated ppst, it makes me think u r talking about the pri right? can someone explain to me what a pri is and does? would it hurt my sprint carrier phone if i updated to that new version? im not sure if this is carrier specific since i dont know what its for

I do not recommend touching it. for Cellular South Users this will be good or for crickett or something liek that but for Spritn or Verizon or Alltel I do not recommend touching it.

I've just tried the radio (1.12.31F) on my Alltel Touch Pro. Works fine. No improvement (unfortunately) for the slow discovery of GPS fixed satelites on my Alltel TP however. ](*,)

I will have to report back once I know more about battery life, etc. Everything, so far, seems OK to me.

The default.ppst update included is very different and may cause unexpected results or nothing at all would not recommend using on non Cellular South devices listen to conflipper :-P

i updated my sprint tp with this radio before reading this thread... grabbed it from strra's [JUL 12] *11 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio thread. so far ive havent had any connection problem, at least with non-sprint users. Not sure about battery life though, just updated it last night.

the last couple posts were talking about the PRI, not the radio. They were just saying that sprint people should not use the PRI in this official rom. The radio is fine for everyone to use.

Their coverage is better than Alltel's...um...VZW's in my area.

I've been thinking about switching over.
