Hey Silence, just had a couple of questions about your kitchens & customizing your roms since I'm kindah new to it! First, when you were talking about the oem, rom & sys folders, am I supposed to be just cutting & pasting them in the same place where the cmd. file is or am I supposed to empty the contents of the folder there!

Second, if I were to customize your rom & take out a lot of programs from it would that make it faster?!

& third is if you feel like being lazy can you please direct me to a thread that explains how to make/customize roms (well, your roms if possible) using your kitchen & tools!

T.I.A.

It's pretty unlikely you could make the ROM much faster or lighter, that's kind of silence specialty :) With rhodium cooking you definitely want to look into CFC compression, it WILL have a dramatic impact on speed.

Look for posts by rstoyguy, in his signature he has links to the many many AWESOME chef tutorials he wrote. I learned tons from him when I first started cooking.

In the SIP make sure you are in ABC mode and not XT9 (if there is even an option). Or try using the hardware keyboard hit FN+SPACE and select ABC.

anyone know the registry to remove the lock off Rhodium all program? i want to remove the programs off it and add my own

Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher. There you will see keys 0-23 which correspond to the 24 program launcher buttons. Keys 0-4 are the first 5 buttons which are locked, to remove the lock go into the key and change "IsReadOnly" to 0. Also when you change the program on that button make sure you delete whatever is in "Command" or it could cause problems when you change the button to a different program.

Loving the 6.5v2 ROM!! Battery life is amazing! One thing I miss is the Android-like notification area that shows battery level, notifications, etc... Is that because of the absence of Rhodium from v2? Is there a way to get that back? I don't really care about seeing all the notifications in one spot (although it's nice), but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to see the remaining charge, aside from installing an app.

I know this is not terribly helpful but I have to say that I love the 6.5 rom and have had to customize nothing and have had no problems whatsoever.
I'm "feeling" the battery life is much longer that any previous roms I've tested but there's no science in that comment.

I installed the Windows Mobile 7 Theme and now have the one bar that shows all of the notifications + lots of other cool options.

Thanks, I'll try that out! Have you noticed any performance issues after installing it?

Thanks Silence, I really appreciate it, just get ready for a barrage of questions!

psyki, I will check that name out & see what he has to offer before I contact Silence but I am currently running his last 6.5 rom because after running 6.5, 6.1 seems like TOTAL GARBAGE! I like TF3D & all but to be able to use your finger all over the rom is THE BOMB! Also all I really wanna do is take out programs I dont use (programs I NEVER EVER USE) in hopes that it will do something for the memory! I hear all this about light & heavy & come to the assumption that its the difference between the amount of stuff cooked into the rom! Thanks for the info too!

Uhhh damn bro lol.. Just so you know the animation has nothing to do
with the performance.. If its on or off its the same..!!

Now what i recommend doing incases like this where people dont like
what ive installed is download the kitchen
Download Silence Lite Rom Kitchen
and the core
Download Silence's Core Kitchen
Now extract the oem, rom, and sys folder onto the directory
with the Silence Rom Kitchen.CMD

Now that you have the kitchen all setup go into the oem folder
and just delete the 1Silence - Startup Animation folder.

now run the Silence Rom Kitchen.CMD
1 build rom
1 build rom using build os
Now press the green play button on buildos
Once its done close buildos
The rom will now build itself without the animation
Then page pool changer will comeup set 12 for verizon..16 for sprint..
Set your desired pp the .nbh is located in the ruu folder
The the flash will begin..!!

HIT THANKS..!!

yo silence, i did that and it worked, green footsteps and logo is gone, but i still see the 3d samurai on certain screens like screen alignment.

how can i remove or edit that picture?
