Re: [May.30.09] *Silence Roms* [-6.1 -6.5 -Rhodium TP2 -Kitchens]

Ok guys, I don't know if this a ROM related issue or not (i don't think so but just putting it out there) but I'm having some trouble just getting started. I am a little new to the whole flashing/cooking scene but I learn quickly. I have a verizonized Sprint touch pro and was going to go to the Silence 6.1 version of this ROM.

So I tried to build a custom ROM out of the kitchen but I can't seem to do it without getting a BuildOS.exe windows error saying it needs to close. I went and downloaded the BuildOS.msi and install that. Yep no difference. Cleaned them both off and reinstalled and still no luck. I've looked up a lot of stuff about how to flash a ROM but haven't found that many tutorials/how to's on cooking your own ROM. Any help would be great and if you could break it down that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Have you copied any OEM's (other than what Silence has made) into the OEM folder?

Nope I haven't done that. The only thing I did was put the Silence X kitchen files (has the OEM folder and the SYS folder) in the folder labeled "Files" in the Silence Core Kitchen II master folder where everything else is.

I put em in there and wasn't sure if it was correct in doing this but it seemed logical...:???:

Move them out of the Files folder so they are in the main root folder...see if that helps. Should look like this

I've been playing around a lot with Kalkulin's kitchens..he has a pretty good OEM base. So I've been using Silences latest 6.1 Kitchens and plugging in some of Kalkulin's OEM's. It will at least "tide me over" until Silence comes up with something new :)

Most people will tell you to try different ROMS out and see what one you like best. It really depends on your taste. Silence, Kalkulin, MightMike all have great 6.1 ROM's. I would try those three out first. Perhaps even others. As far as Rhodium goes, its just some new features in TouchFlo.
