OK, just had a problem, I hope it doesnt happen again but Ill let you know. My phone went to sleep like normal, but it wouldnt wake up. So I tried calling it to see if it would wake up and it didnt. Ill see if it happens again. ALso, is there a reg edit to make the phone wake up when the stylus is pulled out? Cuz I noticed it doesnt do that on this rom.

Like the rom except for one issue. With wm6.5 you should not include the touchflo 3. One of the best parts of 6.5 is the new kinetic scrolling that works in all windows menus, but with touchflo 3 the kinetic scrolling doesn't work. If possible please make a build without touchflo. It will need some tweeks to fix applications like youtube which need the touchflo, but I think it's worth it.

Additionally, it would be nice if you could use the new manilla hd version with the stock tab. I know it's still buggy with 6.5, but hopefully those bugs get worked out soon.

Thank you,
Nathan

Da_G has been gracious enough to consider this the "CDMA Version" of his very popular kitchen. Without his help over the past two weeks, I would have never been able to get the new Bepe (Ervius) style kitchen working. I also received a lot of initial help from MightyMike. His kitchens and personal OEMs are what got me started. So, here are the usual "thank you's":

Da_G (XDA), MightyMike, Bepe (XDA), Ervius (XDA), Dan-HTC-Touch, Tsowen (XDA), Showaco (XDA), TPlane37 (XDA), Calkulin (XDA)

If I have forgotten to mention you in the above list, don't worry, I didn't forget about you. (Wait, yes I did.) But, please send me a message so I can add you to the list!

This IS NOT my first relase of this kitchen/ROM. This is simply my first release of it on PPCGeeks. You can check the history of dB_ROM at my XDA Thread. Read through the posts there, you will see it's one of the best around. I finally posted this here because the GSM Raphael rules XDA. I was the first to launch a CDMA Kitchen for it there. That shows you how few people actually talk about the CDMA TP there. So, I would like to maintain both threads. Please help me in doing so. Thanks!

Information on where the Kitchen was built from:
SYS: Da_G
XIP: Da_G
OEMs: MightyMike, Da_G, Tsowen (Taskbar), Showaco (Titanium Weather), Me
EXTs: Same as OEMs list
Kitchen Design: Da_G modification of Ervius' base kitchen based on Bepe's new style kitchen (PlatformBuilder)

CHANGELOG:

Monday (4-5-2009)
  • Updated SYS to 21502
  • Updated to Ervius 7.6
    • Changed Organization of EXT Folder per this update

Stable enough for every day use? Well, I am :D (Yes, I stole this from Da_G, BUT, I REALLY AM USING IT DAILY!)

Instructions for new style kitchen (build 21501 and above)

Step 1. Extract to a clean folder

Step 2. Run erviuskitchen.exe

Step 3. Click "load rom"

Step 4. Choose "dB_ROM-21501"

Step 5. Scroll down to section labelled "HERMAN-Device: HERMAN_External_Packages" in blue text

Step 6. Double click packages here to enable or disable them (first column reads True for enabled, False for disabled) (Leave alone for Defaults)

Step 7. Do the same for section under that labelled "SHARED-Devices: WindowsPhone_Components" as step 6 (Leave alone for Defaults)

Step 8. (Optional) Click "Save ROM" and choose a filename, to save your package choices for loading in the future

Step 9. Click "Create ROM"

Step 10. ROM is available in .nbh form in kitchen folder \HERMAN_RELEASE, you can either flash it with the included RUU.exe or rename to RAPHIMG.NBH and place on fat32 formatted SD card, for SD flash

General Notes for ROM and Kitchen
  • Always hard reset after initial flash. (I always wait till Autorun/SDAutorun complete and device soft resets)
  • Soft reset after hard reset doesn't hurt anything. (Comes from my old Titan days)
  • Don't worry about all the "Overwriting..." in the kitchen build process. It's normal and expected.
  • DO NOT use XIP 21502 in Kitchen. It's broken. I know what it is, but there is no change from the 21501 XIP, so just use it.
  • Report all bugs, etc here. Da_G and I have worked hard to make this as bug free as possible, but, Shhhtuff happens.
  • If you are run Windows Vista or 7 and use the Kitchen, you must Right-Click ErviusKitchen.exe and select "Run as Administrator..."
  • Don't blame me if you brick your device. It's not my, or the kitchens, fault. You recognize the potential problems that can arise from flashing your own ROMs on your phone. Da_G and I will take no responsibility. "Use at your own risk."
  • All that being said, I have had no issues during flash processes. I use this as my daily phone and have no ill side effects.
Before you Begin
If you have never flashed a ROM before, PLEASE read the information posted by jakdillard in the sticky thread of this forum. You must first unlock your SPL and learn how to flash. All the information on doing this has been gathered and placed in a easy to follow step-by-step guide in the thread. Here is the direct link.

I tried this kitchen and it is GREAT thanks. I made my rom and I have 213mb in programs and 334mb in storage. So far everything is working without a hitch. But how can I change the splashscreen and also rename the rom so at start up it is more personal? If you could pm me with instructions. Again thanks.

I am going to fix the 21502 XIP tonight and upload it as an "Addon" package for the kitchen. You'll just extract it to the directories relative to root and you'll be able to cook in a true 21502 XIP giving you the 5.2.21502 number. However, this will change the functionality in absolutely no way.

As far as the ID?? You talking about the RUU Flash ID? The Build ID on the About screen (See above)? Depends on what you want as to where to change it.

As far as splashscreens, that is not available in ErviusKitchen. If we want to put splashscreens in, we will have to do them seperately or wait for Ervius to support it in xip payload. I will look into a little more and see if we can pull it off via a seperate batch job before final NBH build. I'll let you know.

:headbang: There is a program out to make your own splashcreens, I tried it but they didn't want to load so I am trying to find another program for this. Thanks for sharing a great kitchen with us. I have been running this all day and no "glitches" "itches" "burps" or system "farts" GREAT!

I ended up using the kitchen, I didn't care for some of the customizations. I'm kind of a purist / minimalist. Seems to be working OK.

The hardware keyboard is a bit slower than other 6.5 ROMs I've used (however, they're all quite slow). Not sure what he did differently, but the newest starROM seems to be most responsive to the hardware keyboard.

He is using parts from the 21222 to get rid of the corrupted ringtone problem. 21222 was the last build that never had the problem.

OK, to clear up confusion on build #s:

There are currently two separate development lines. HTC is using 212xx, MS is using 215xx. 502 is an MS internal build; 222 is an HTC Build. The respective build #s for each dev. stream are higher for newer builds, so that will give you some idea about what is going on with the files.

So far so good. I have not had it come around yet. I have been on it now ALMOST 24 hours. It seems the issue would come within the first 24 hours, so once I hit that mark, I will be able to say a defniitive "yes" or "no". If this issue has been resolved with this build, I will be able to fix the 21502 build with a patch release (cab install for device and zip extraction for kitchen).

No. I have not included Rhodium Manila because of the amount of bugs in it ATM. Once it has been proven to be more stable, I will include it. My goal is the release the most stable ROM with the best features possible. I do not want to sacrifice stability for the "latest and greatest". I will be more than happy to include Rhodium Manila in the Kitchen, but I don't think I will build a ROM with it.

7 Megs to be exact. 2.5 Megs of which is the Manila Weather database alone. I have switched to not using Manila at all. Everything I need is in CHome (Titanium) anyway. I am looking at adding more titanium addons to future builds.

This is precisely correct. the 21222 build is actually NEWER than the 21502. If you look at the build dates in the actual SYS files, you will see that 21222 is newer. The 215xx series (MS Internal) has some features the 212xx (HTC branch) doesn't. Examples would be touch-vibrate, SMS sync with exchange. I know there are more differences, but it's really not important. The SMS sync is kind of pointless ATM because Exchange 14 (2010) hasn't been released to BETA yet. It is the only Exchange server to support the SMS sync. Untill it is released to BETA, no one has it installed, therefor, SMS sync on the phone is useless.

Re: [ROM][05.06.09] dB_ROM WM 6.5 21501,21502,21222 ROM/Kitchen TouchPro [Multi-ROMs]

Thanks for the Kitchen... Works great!!!

I do have 1 question... I'm wondering where the youtube app is in the kitchen. When I build it, I dont see it under common: Apps. I see it under common: TF3D but it requires TF3D as it states. Could this be added or am I being dumb and not seeing it?

Noob here. I have searched here and over at xda for the erviuskitchen.exe that you speak of in the intructions. I can not seem to find it. Can someone point a noob in the right direction?

erviuskitchen.exe should be right in the folder after you extract the kitchen. When I open mine it is next to the test2.bat file and the Donation IE file.

I just installed the full rom for all carriers 21222 and my phone won't get past the "please wait, phone starting up" screen. Anyone else tried it yet? I'm using a verizon touchpro. I'm going to try to go back to the 21502 one.

I downloaded dB_ROM-wm6.5_21222-Full-Sprint_Optimized and do not get the kitchen file. I only get:

Custom_Ruu.exe
Enterbootloader.exe
Errorbattery.fig
ErrorUsb.fig
Modelid.fig
rapitool.exe
ruu_signed.nbh
ruugetinfo.exe
ruuresource.dll

Am I missing something here?
