Researching Kitchens to cook my first ROM
I'm starting my research on cooking my own ROM (for personal use.) I have d/led eRice's and SSK's. I have messed with both and noticed a huge difference in "understandability" I'm not quite a noob...but not experienced enough to understand every little thing in SSK's kitchen...so...I'm asking if there might be other threads that may be a good jump start point for me to start reading?
Second of all, I know that cab's can be turned into OEM and then cooked into a ROM...How would I be able to do that? Also, is there a place where OEM's are kinda just floating out in cyberspace for anyone's whim to download? Finally...is there such a thing as a "starter" kitchen...meaning it is "user friendly" explains things as you go along building your ROM...instead of just opening up and let you tinker away? |
Re: Researching Kitchens to cook my first ROM
Hit ppckitchen.org, download their kitchen and OEM packs, it includes just about every OEM you would need. The interface is also very noob friendly! As an alternate rstoyguy also has a thread on how to create OEMs and post requests for OEMs that you can't quite figure out.
You can also check out rstoyguys ROM tutorials here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...19&postcount=8 |
Re: Researching Kitchens to cook my first ROM
For a first time cooking experience you might want to try Scotts Simple Kitchen (SSK). His kitchen is very simple and also allows you to play different builds of WinMo.
You can go to http://www.sskusers.com/touchpro.html to research it a bit more. |

Re: Researching Kitchens to cook my first ROM
thanks for all the pointers...and have already been doing some reading over at ppckitchen.org...
Think I'll have some trial and error ahead of me...and am hoping that I won't have too many errors... I have d/l'ed SSK's and eRice already...and will probably pick up Caulk's as well...think I'll cook a ROM with each and try them out. I'm sure I'll have multiple questions...but gotta start somewhere |
Re: Researching Kitchens to cook my first ROM
