Weird battery drain on copper?

Hey,

I guess I have a weird question:

When i upgraded to copper, i also started using spb shell. Nothing else running task manager, I make sure wifi is disabled unless im using it, yet it still eats through battery life like crazy, when just texting. ( talking during a 15 minute break at work, it'll drop 5% in battery power ). Is this normal?, or are there any tweaks I can do to lengthen that? I like my phone to last at least 24 hours between charges

You could flash to a different radio. I've noticed greatly improvd battery life by going with the telus 1.04 radio.

If you want a rom that sips battery try running Silence 9. I ran it without TF3D and used Mobile Shell and was getting 2 days on a battery. I would consider myself a moderate user.

Re: Weird battery drain on copper?

thats weird cuz my wifes and my phone running silence 9 rom kills the battery in less than half a day with our normal usage. then again we're still running the stock radios so that might be it

what i heard from other geekers that using spb shell save battery more than touch flo 3d because it use less processor speed and ram. i'm using it and i love it

I've heard that it could be caused by Sprite terminator.

It's a program that sits in the background.
If you lose your phone, or it gets stolen, you just send your phone a text message from another phone, and your phone will reply with the GPS coordinates so you can find it.

You can also instruct sprite terminator to wipe your phone clean remotely.

I would say reflash Copper. The first time I flashed, I didnt hard reset and I was getting poor battery life like you. Then I reflashed and did a hard reset and the phone lasts me for 24 hours on what I consider heavy use and 36 to 48 hours on moderate use.

http://www.spritesoftware.com/products it costs $14.95

I've also used SmartphoneTracker (http://smartphonetracker.blogspot.com/), which is free, and sends you the GPS coordinates, but it's not as "stealth" as the sprite program.

Your battery issue may be due to the data connection staying on at all times. There is a fix for this, I believe it is in Hafrust customizations thread, could be wrong though... I cant find it now, I am at work and gotta run...

i'm getting great battery life with copper.. much better than stock rom. and i have pretty much everything you can think of installed. i've got an sms watcher in the background for a private p/w protected inbox, terminator, smartphone tracker, a ton of customizations, etc, etc... and it works great. i'm so astonished at the battery life. i hard reset once after first flash, and its fine.

Hehe...no. I was just saying that if the OP is getting poor battery life, maybe it's because they have that program installed (as many people have it). :)

I'm using the Sprint 1.11 radio with Copper and better battery life than most other roms.

WM 6.5 uses more resources than 6.1 so yeah there is a bigger chance that it can suck the life out of your battery

I found out yesterday that my bluetooth has been on along with beam this whole time, so I turned those off hoping that makes battery life a little better
