Did I ask the wrong question?? - Help creating kitchen
I am new to Windows Mobile development. I've developed web and desktop applications in the past, and I am currently a system administrator. I do have technical competence, but I lack knowledge in the Windows Mobile arena. I am trying to learn how to develop my own WinMo 6.1 Touch Pro ROM from the basest, reasonable steps possible so I can have full control over customization and tweaking. I just need some help getting started. I've used PPCKitchen's BuildOS, eRice's kitchen, and a few others. I some familiarity with how they work. My problem is they are limiting because (not sure about this) it seems not possible to import my own OEMs. I also would like to experiment with other builds of Windows Mobile. PPCKitchen seemingly only has Build 20931 for the Herman.
So, I'm trying to learn how to create my own kitchen. Can someone point me to any how-tos, tutorials, or any information on developing my own kitchen? Also any useful tips on tweaking Windows Mobile or TouchFlo would be useful. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

you wanting your own kitchen or to cook your own rom? If you want to cook your own rom check my signature for the End All Kill All. There are tutorials for cooking your own rom and making oems. Grant it, that post is for the diamond but the concept is the same.

OEMizer helped me created my own OEM's.

Ultimately I would like to build my own kitchen. I'm sure learning more about ROM customization will come as part of that endeavor. Thanks for the reply JMZ. I will begin looking at your tutorial
I used OEMizer in PPCKitchen BuildOS to build OEMs from CAB files. I would like to use other already built OEM packages for building into my ROM. From my understanding OEMizer can't do that, can it? |

To use the oems you have to take the files that came from the OEMizer and place them in the USER_OEM folder in the PPCKitchen file in program files. Or something of the sort, im not to sure about the name of the folder but it will be along that line. Then when you restart Buildos they will be there.
