Thread Clean-up Requests

This is mainly directed to those of you releasing and supporting roms. There are numerous threads here with thousands of replies and one can only guess how many pages of posts. If you need your thread cleaned up, please post here or shoot me a pm.

There are a few clean-up options available:

1. A "reset" in which I'd archive ALL posts except for the first one (or those first few that contain all the important info).

2. A "deep cleansing" in which I'd archive most of the "debris" posts (those that just say thanks, etc.) We'd maintain those posts that have credible info in it.

Also, if you're no longer supporting a particular rom thread (e.g., you've released a newer version), let's consider archiving that as well.

You guys doing the rom work have a thankless job at times and are one of the main reasons that PPCGeeks is as big as it is! Keep up the good work!!!

Additionally, I can clean up other threads and archive posts to make threads more "user friendly".

late,
Coz

p.s., remember, the archiving/cleaning-up process will not change post count or thanks count.

+1 to a Juicy Thread cleanup.

Its especially tough because bugs DO exist and HAVE been solved, but have been talked about SO much it is hard to find the actual solutions.

With the amount of archives my thread has had, It should already be somewhere around..... Lets do the math.

7,000 Posts before it first got archived, then 4,000 posts before it got archived again, and now 6,000 posts.

That's around 17,000 Posts in my thread.

---

My Milestone is that 1,000,000 Views ;)

First thread on PPCGeeks to achieve that milestone??!?!?!

Bring it on!

I'm workin' on Juicy's thread right now. And yeah, I would agree that Mighty's is easily around 16,000 to 18,000.

I would like to nominate the radio rom thread.

Way to much junk in there.

Thanks!

I wouldn't mind seeing some clean up in both the Radio Thread and Mighty's thread.

MightyMikes could use a lil spring cleaning, would be good when mike releases MR5, so all the pointless is it here yet? is it here yet? gets taken care of...

Re: Thread Clean-up Requests

Yeah, +1 to the MightyROM thread, it's 830ish pages long, it really needs a spring cleaning about now.

Re: Thread Clean-up Requests

+1 on Mighty Thread, but not until the release so that people can do all of the "I Can't wait" stuff. Then on release it will have relevant info.

Re: Thread Clean-up Requests

Regarding MM's thread....I think we'll hold off on cleaning things up until his new release.

Thanks,
Coz

Re: Thread Clean-up Requests

If the mods can't save my THREAD VIEWS, i wish not to have the thread archived.

It's been archived 3-4 times in the past with the thread views saved. This time it seems not possible, i wish i achieve a 1 million views plateau :)

i say keep it open but, if anything, just move it. it keeps a central area for people to talk about their thoughts on roms without being considered as flaming

Well looks like it was deleted/archived by a mod today... you knew it would happen eventually..
