is there any way to flash a radio from linux?
im trying to figure out a way without having to put vista back on my computer

You can flash a radio using the SD card method... there's a sticky with instructions. (assuming you can read/write to the SD card from your linux distro... or if you have a card reader)

so far, not a bad radio, get better gps locking in my basement it seems, signal seems to be about the same, hard to say if it's better yes, have not left the house since I flashed it

I am a little confused b y the naming scheme the one I currently have loaded is V1.11.00F vs this new one V1.07.06F . I would be expecting the newer one to have the higher revision number.

1.11.00f is a diamond radio, which is why the higher numbering, diamond has been around longer, this is an actual herman radio

at this time, it's hard to say... need more testing, some claim data is faster, gps locks seemed better to me, I was previously on the 1.11, I am pretty sure this will be a newer radio then 1.11, so It might have some more optimized features. but like I say, hard to say atm
