Re: Flashing from linux?

Just FYI, when I hook my touch pro up to my debian box it pops right up as an available drive. I'm able to copy to and from the storage card as needed so it would be possible for me to flash from storage if I so desired. I keep a vista box around for gaming though, so I usually use it.

it'll work through using virtualbox, to emulate xp (maybe vista too, don't see why not)

are you familiar with virtualbox?? i feel it's a must have program to go along with your linux box...for those times (like now) when u jus have to use windows.

I think the whole point of this thread is to no have to use and Microsoft Windows product. Linux is free and open source and the user might not have a copy of Windows. The problem is that flashing is an executable and linux doesn't do exe...
I'd play around with wine http://www.winehq.org/

Re: Flashing from linux?

just do the sd card method, using an sd card reader its really still less effort than using a RUU. I know thats not what you wanted to hear, but diskdrive mode and linux can recognise it like a flash drive drop the file, name it raphimg.nbh and bootloader that badboy. half the time im at work so I just download the whole rom over my phone and flash via the sd card. just make sure you have a copy of pocket rar in cases of emergency.
