Volume Buttons
2 Attachment(s)
I was wondering if anyone around here could help me out with a problem I'm having.
When I press the volume up/down buttons on the side of my Touch Pro, the display that pops up shows both the system volume and the ringer volume on one screen like in the picture labeled "Volume2" attached below. It used to display a tabbed screen with the system volume on one tab and the ringer volume on another like in the picture labeled "Volume1" attached below. It's not that I mind the look of it....I actually kind of prefer the single screen, but ever since it's been like that, I can't get AE Button Plus to recognize the volume keys, and therefore can't map any programs to either of the buttons. I used to have programs mapped to single, double, triple and long press for both buttons and now I've lost that functionality. I am not sure what I did that changed this from the tabbed volume screen to this one. I have tried removing programs to see if one of them has caused this to happen, but I have not been able to track down the culprit yet...if that is even what is causing this in the first place. Does anyone know how I can get the tabbed volume screen back, or how to get AE Button Plus to recognize the volume keys again? Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... -Keir- |
Re: Volume Buttons
Whoa. Thats weird. I've never seen a volume screen like that and I LIKE IT!
Sorry I couldn't help, but if you find out how to enable that version I'd appreciate it =] |
Re: Volume Buttons
Wow, no help here but I kind of like it too.

Re: Volume Buttons
You'll want an older version of the HTCVolumeControl.dll
Go to your Windows folder, make a backup copy of it, then rename it (just rename it to HTCVolumeControl.dll.old) then soft reset. The original file will be restored. Also, this should have gone in the general section :) |
Re: Volume Buttons
Yeah, I like it too, but I don't know where it came from :disgust:
By the way, if I touch the little speaker icon on the task bar, it shows the tabbed volume screen....just don't know why my Touch Pro started using the other screen for the volume buttons I would really like to keep that single screen, but I need the functionality of AE back. The other buttons that I have mapped with AE still work fine...home, phone key, etc. It's just the volume keys that don't work anymore. ](*,) I'm not even sure that getting the tabbed screen would restore the functionality of AE, but I'm hoping it will. I miss having programs just a buttons press or two away :( I've tried unistalling AE and reinstalling it several times, and nothing seems to work. I'm starting to wonder if I inadvertently changed something in the registry that may have caused this.... -Keir- |

I found the HTCVolumeControl.dll but it won't let me rename it or move the file. Is there something I need to do to be able to rename the file and then move it? I am using Total Commander. -Keir- |
Re: Volume Buttons
Do you have S2U2 installed? There's a volume control included in it that looks just like that

THANK YOU Ruskiyab!!!!! That was what it was! I had the volume control set to "on" in the S2U2 settings. I must have accidentally turned that on not knowing it. Now it's back to the tabbed volume screen and AE Button Plus is working again :D Thanks again! -Keir- |
Re: Volume Buttons
so how can we get that out of s2u2 and onto my ppc
