Recommended ROM for Sprint Touch Pro
 

Hi all - longtime lurker, first time poster here. I have been wanting to flash my Sprint Touch Pro and have been looking at what's available. I'll be honest - I have reached information overload. ahhhhh!

What I want is a speedy version so I can use it for the following:

- lose Sprint bloatware
- cool GUI visuals
- use skype
- use as wi-fi hot spot for my laptop
- playing games
- have a great music player w/ gapless playback.
- have a great video player
- gps direction software
- universal IM client
- I would love to be able to use Pandora also.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

YAY, another "which rom should I use thread". Just kidding, but honestly with these kinds of threads your going to get many different responses. You have many choices of roms of which all will probably be better than the stock sprint rom anyway, so just flash away and see which one you like the best. Also just take the time to read each rom related thread to get an idea of how other users are liking it.

Gator if you dont have any actual advice for someone asking dont respond. i know your anti custom roms but some people are into them. He asked whats a good custom Rom not whether or not he should flash.

OP ide suggest Merdins or Juicy. but everones taste are diffrent so try them all out. Good luck.

I was thinking of doing that. looks like everything I want is a custom deal. I is there an easy to understand tutorial you know about?

Almost all of the Custom ROMs inlcude a Sprint version but NONE of them meet all your criteria.

I agree with earlier posts about trying them out, but I've had great luck with MightyMike ROMs.

:violent2:Try GC's kitchen if you want to try to cook a rom. It is pretty user friendly or try RSTG's new Rhodium rom for the TP.

Rome, You should read the stickys. I believe there is one titled "How to flash your Touch Pro." Maybe start there, be sure to unlock first, and read that thread too.


As to which custom ROM to flash, I am currently using MM 4.15 and I think its great. Different strokes for different folks though. The best way to find what you like, start flashing away! You can always add any additional programs as you see fit. I have installed at least 15 additional cabs to MightyMike's ROM and my phone is running flawlessly.

And the 2nd thread is a link to RSTG's latest rom. His roms work great on the TP with Sprint.

when i unzip the rom it says that ! C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\New Folder (2)\MightyROM4.16_032509R.rar: CRC failed in RUU\RUU_signed.nbh. The file is corrupt. yet it says this for every rom i have unzipped any answers? Thanks to all who have responded so far

Do you have winrar installed on your pc? If not you need it,google download winrar and that will be a start.

Like the previous post mentions, you need winrar to extract the ROM.
If you are using winRAR to extract, then there must be something like an antivirus program messing with you. If the latter is the case, turn off your antivirus before extracting.
