Newbie! It is hard to sort this out!

I came here looking for a ROM to put on my new Touch Pro I got from Sprint. I have found quite a few and tried them out but they all seem to have the Sprint apps removed and I want them. I digress. Anyway there are so many choices here and not easy to sort through these messages. Can someone sort these ROM's out into a thread where we can see what is what? Just asking, not trying to offend. I love what I have tried so far just not everything I need in them.

most of the ROM threads have an explination of the things they have in them. and all the sprint app that they take out, you cna put them back in by findingthe cab. for them

Thanks, I found it. I was able to do a little better in finding the ROMs. I want one with Manila but want to keep my Sprint TV, Picture Mail and Sprint Navigation. I can't figure out why everyone removes these apps. I have a full sprint account with premier access to TV, Picture Mail and other things all for free and I want to be able to use them.

Well the 2 main reasons why stock sprint apps are removed are that a good majority of people don't use these applications and in most cases, there are better apps available than the standard ones. But like was mentioned in the previous post, all stock sprint apps are available as cabs that are easily installed.

I'm running on a Mighty ROM 4.15 very stable and nicely customized with most of the stuff I do use. On the first page of his thread there are many tweaks you could use and also some caps that you might like from sprint.

Re: Newbie! It is hard to sort this out!

Thanks for the help everyone :salute:. I sat down and tried them one at a time on my TP. I used the link left by DvxRipPimp. Since I was looking for a fully loaded ROM with all the Sprint OEM's I was biased to those of course. The ROM's are sweet that these nice people have created. I decided not one of them is exactly what I wanted but 3 of them really impressed me. I love the speed (zoom.....) of "rstg_Raph_v1.7.34". Dude, this thing is fast. It has a nice TF3D interface and I like the additional TF3D options that I did not get with the Sprint ROM. It even had all my Sprint OEM's :???:. Loaded with great apps and some nice games. It even spoke to me. Quite impressive. I also think Merdin has a Great ROM as well. I particularly like the red one and after paying attention to his thread I figured out how to turn the internet back on when it shut off. LOL. His landscape TF3D was really appealing. It had some good speed as well but not as fast as "rstg_Raph_v1.7.34" imoo. None the less the landscape TF3D had me leave it one my phone for now. The third one I really liked was "KKs Loaded". This one took a while to setup but it was definately worth trying. My daughter has a Diamond and when she saw that one she said she had to have it. We really like the added TF3D options, it was loaded and pretty fast. I just didn't like that there was not landscape. I tried all the others too but wasn't much impressed. I had an issue with the "EnergyRom 2.0.32696" ROM. It would never load, just snagged my boot image each time and forced me to flash with the original ROM to get it back. In all I had fun trying the ROMs and if I could build one with the TF3D options I found on KK's, Merdin's and rstg plus those same options in landscape mode, the full load on KK's and rstg with the speed of the rstg ROM, the look or Merdin's and I got me a phone.8-)

Well read some of the posts by the "chefs" and download a kitchen and start learning to build a rom. There is always plenty of room for more ingenious chefs.

OK, I got the kitchen and will give it my best shot. I am a little confused about what these TF3D 2D and Manila versions are and have in them. I have seen quite a few configurations and wonder how to use them. Are people altering TF3D? I will use this kitchen and give it a whirl.

:violent2: As for a detailed explanation on all of these things I am still learning myself so I would have to leave that to guy's like RSTG, SSK, MightyMike and the sort. Happy cooking! I enjoy it myself.

Ok, I got Calkulin's kitchen but keep getting an "os_nb.payload" error. Know where I might find instructions on how to use this kitchen?
