Sprint Airave Friendly ROM

I have flashed about 5 different ROM's and every single one hasn't work correctly. I'm running the airave inside my home and have max signal strength with the stock rom and radio once I upload a custom rom my signal strength drops to 0 to maybe 1 bars. I have flashed every radio i could find with no help to the problem. So I'm asking the wizards out there to help me figure out why custom's roms don't like my airave.

My airave likes every custom ROM that I flash. Does it do the 2 beep deal when you make a call? Mine will show only 2-3 bars and I can make a call and it will still connect.

i agree with jason. while the airave works wonders, it still depends on your internet speed at the time you make a call or data connection. i get good service when the internet traffic is slow but i have clearwire. try flashing a different radio.

I think it's reporting your EVDO signal and not your Airave 1x signal strength. Try calling voicemail then take a look at the signal bar while in a call, that should show full strength.

Another way to check is to see what go into epst (FieldTrial) and look at your CH#, it'll be different with the Airave on and off.

If I call the voice mail the bars show full strength but what about receiving calls why wouldn't the phone just show full bars. I'm going to flash to another rom and test it some more.

i think you're ok. does it not connect or take forever to connect? i'm using a custom taskbar but i get a connection with 1 bar.

I'm testing it now, I just don't understand why the the bars show nothing but when I recieve a call and make a call the bars go to full.

that's just airave. it does the same to me. if you don't get a connection, then you worry.

I really think the signal meter is for your data connection (I would assume you're on EVDO), with Sprint (and maybe everybody else I'm not sure), EVDO and voice are actually broadcast on two different channels. So your phone is connected to the Airave for voice and sms, but the weaker EVDO signal just for data. The phone only seems to so one of the two signal strengths unlike some other phones that will actually give you two signal bars.

Yeah your phone will try and pick up EV signal even it is really low.. but whenever a phone call is made it will go 1x. Remember airave can't do evdo for the moment..
You can dial *99 and it will tell you You are now within airave coverage recording.
