Best Rom for Sprint?

Ok what do you consider to be the best rom for Sprint? I don't want to lose my special sprint features but definitely want to improve the ROM. I used the unlocker and already unlocked my phone :)

Secondly I tried Second Today.. didn't really care for it.. uninstalled it but I am stuck with the TODAY link on the bottom left that when clicked on says the second today exe is missing. How can I change that bottom menu from TODAY?

:violent2:I had that problem before and I had to do hard reset to get rid of it. I know a hard reset can be a pain but when you start flashing around with different rom's it sometimes has to be to get rid of somethings.
Now there are alot of great rom's out there that work great with Sprint. I use one I cooked in GC's kitchen 2.1.4 It has alot of memory if you set the page pool to 8 and it is pretty quick and stable. I also use Sprint Radio 1.110F.

To reset the left softkey delete the following registry values:

Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeLSKText"="Action"
"HomeLSKPath"="\\Windows\\HTCActionScreen.exe"
"HomeRSKArguments"=""
"HomeRSKPath"=""
"HomeRSKText"=""
"HomeLSKArguments"=""

Just the values...

What "special sprint features" are you concerned about? If you're worried about things like SprintTV , picturemail and Sprint Nav, they can easily be installed after flashing. I'm using Mightyrom 4.13 on sprint and it works great. Eventually I may go to a kitchen so I can remove a few things like rss Hub (I use Egress) to reduce program menu clutter.

Mighty 4.13 and Juicy 5 are fast on my Sprint phone.

Running MightyROM 4.12 and it runs very nicely. The only sprint-related issue is picture mail. When you snap a picture, you don't have the option to send an MMS until open the picture manually. Other than that, it works great. Sprint Navigation, TV, OzMessenger and picture mail otherwise work without a hitch. Opera is a little less stable than I'd like, but you can fix that by loading another version. I also had to modify Opera's custom user agent, but you can grab that information out of the Touch Pro essentials sticky.

G'luck.

thanks for the tip.. will try that.. tried another rom and it just had too much in it.. the main menu was no longer clean and slim.. had folders opening up all over.. default setting was gone from the menu and task manager was gone from the upper right menu.. So going to flash with that Sprint.. I just wanted to enhance the Sprint one not totally redesign the interface making it require stylus even more. As well as my movie recorder dissed on me completely with the other ROM. It was Raphael v1.7.24 that I tried for a sprint kitchen sink and just had too much that I never ever would use.

BTW what is the sprint radio? I installed it but couldn't even find it on the system.

This will explain the radio: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616 I'm using rstoyguy's rom. I've tried Juicy's and Mike's too, but rstoyguy's has the best balance for me. It's based on the Sprint stock rom too. Have fun flashing.

Re: Best Rom for Sprint?

Well I prefer to keep the interface simple more like the Sprint.. though it would be nice to be able to add a few more links to it than 7. Just more of an enhancement without a ton of apps I probably won't use or know how to use. Fast quick response and a transparent clock that can be flipped out of the way to the smaller one like I am using now. I don't mind added functionality as long as it's not totally interupting the ease of the primary screen like the Today Menu or cluttering it more.. the one I tried had turned the menu into a windows style menu. I simplicity for the major features.. dialing, messaging, the primary menu. and so many seem to make it not as easy to use one even changed the contacts to a smaller harder to select contacts screen.

Tried Meridan's.. it's quite nice.. but still can't figure out how to activate radio after I installed the rom.. I can't find any shortcut for the app anywheres.

Ok Meridian SUCKS! DAMN why do they keep disabling Sprint stuff.. I tried to install Sprint TV on the Meridian and it just errors! Also the damn Sprint Radio doesn't even work either :( And now I got multiple shortcuts in all programs, ect with meridian.. Guess I be better off going back to stock at least the stupid thing works the way it's suppose to.

I was not able to get Sprint Radio working.. And the mods nobody explains what they do.. I couldn't even find the correct transparent flip clock that still allowed the flipping to smaller clock to get it off the screen. I wish their was a simple mod pack of mods to be added.. and I would stick with stock also.. because so far everyone keeps killing the sprint special features in most of their mods! How can they dare call it things like KK Sprint Loaded when the author lied and took out the sprint tv and didn't even add the sprint radio.. if their going to call it Sprint loaded than load the stupid thing.

Ok how is it like Sprint? I just tried it.. No Sprint Tv at all.. completely missing from the slide bar. Only way I have seen to get my Sprint Tv is to go stock only!

Re: Best Rom for Sprint?

No one is going to put Sprint TV in the slide bar. It's not worth its own menu. Just install the cab and run it from Programs. I was all excited about it at first but when it really boils down to it Sprint TV looks terrible and is about as useful as a 5th appendix.

Problem is the damn TV won't run when installed into another rom.. it reports a problem running file security something or other.. and will not launch. And I still have not found a damn way to get Sprint Radio to run since I can't find it at all when it's installed.
