Start is the autoloader for TF3d. If you close it you will close tf3d. So don't do it. If you click the wrench on the task manager, you can set Start "process" as exclusive so it will never show up again in the task list and you can go back to hitting 'close all' without nuking TF3D as well.

nope ive changed the wallpaper many times and never got the red screen are you using a picture you took or the included pictures in the rom?

no as soon as i click on the wallpaper part of the settings tab in touch flo the entire screen goes red

Same here cant choose ANYTHING. I also get this when trying to change a picture for a favorite contact which also involves choosing a picture.

Never mind i just realised im using 1.2.1, but im not having any problems what so ever.
Is the red screen only affecting 1.2.2?

Just read on xda that the choose wallpaper problem is indeed a known bug.
