I am missing the "X" button (taskmanager with the wrench and memory settings) in the upper right hand corner of the today screen.

When i open an app or go into all programs the "OK" and "X" button show up but not when in the today screen, and so i cannot change the seetings "tap to close"

What could have gone wrong? I searched this thread on "X" button and taskmanager and did not find anything, if this has been addressed please forgive me and point me in the right direction.

it should appear after 30 seconds to a minute... mine dont show right away but does eventually show... also watch for messaging to open on the titlebar.. make sure you hit x to close it... the only way to konw it opened is by seeing it on the bar.. the messaging body dont show... it looks like you are still on the today screen

Yes i did see the "messaging" come up next to the start button, i clicked on "X" to close it but i still do not have the taskmananger button, any other suggestions?

I hard reset, flashed this ROM, waited for all installs to finish, hard reset again, after all installed i soft reset.

Also I dont understand when you say "it looks like you are still on the today screen" isn't there that the taskmanager "X" button should show?

By the way I know this can be turned on and off by:
1. start
2. settings
3. system tab
4. task manager
5. button tab
6. check the "enable quick menu.." tick box.

But this is not present in this ROM, or maybe it is WM6.5 having this on another location or not at all.

Have you tried opening a program, hitting home and looking for it? I noticed it doesn't show up immediately, but that seemed to fix it.

Also are you sure you chose to load the task manager in the kitchen? Quick menu is also available, those 2 programs don't really like each other.

Yes checked Taskmanager 2.1.35349.400 and unchecked Quick Menu 2.8.410.

Opening a program and goin to home did not fix it. But thanks for the suggestions :)

Ok i fix it:

Downloaded and installed task Manager to memory card. ( could only find an older version)

Went to start > setting > system open task manager > button > enable quick menu on today screen (after installing the old version taskmanager, it now shows in the settings/system window). It was already checked so i unchecked it, soft reset. Still no button, went back into task manager and re-checked it, soft reset.

Now i have the button.

Uninstalled task manager since the one i found was an old version, soft reset, still have the button.

Very weird because this is a fresh install of the ROM and i hardreset before and after the ROM install.

wow,that is weird,I have never seen that trouble.
I dont run manila, maybe that can blockit?

The new kitchen is up. Make sure to read the .txt file in the main kitchen directory.

Hi llbored, Thankyou for the new kitchen....I was anxious to try it!
I think it may be a bad upload though, I get an rar error when I try to extract.
and I dont see the kitchen.exe file just the text readme in the root..
should I re download?
