Help for the begininers? special backups? email acounts, touchflo3 prefs, etc...
 

Hey guys:

Sorry for the noob questions here, but I always figure if there is a good central place for questions to be answered it would help. I looked over the forum, and googled, but I did not find any good answers to my questions.

ANYWAY.... I have started flashing my phone with different rom's and was indeed pleased with the ease of doing it. I ma able to back up most things, but there are a few things that annoy me that I need reset every time.

1 - Email accounts. I have not found a good way to back them up and restore my accounts after I flash the phone. It only takes me about 10 to 15 mins, but it would be great to have a simple restore function.

2 - My touchflo 3d prefs, like favorite contacts, album location, city weather, etc...

Generally, I have found PIM to be good, but does not cover this specifically.

I too was once a newbie. Do a search and you'll find endless information
search OEMizer to find out how to "backup" your email settings
search this self-explainable title **RESOLVED** Backup HD People Tab
and lastly for your album locations and such you need to search for SDConfig which is a text file needed to do UC here's a page http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59566

that'll get you started and just remember there is plenty of information and how tos here, don't forget to search first... good luck

Remember PIM Backup is ONLY going to b/u PIM data (calendar, contacts, tasks, notes). If you want a more comprehensive b/u, look @SPB Backup or Resco Backup

I use SKTOOLS or SPRITE backup to backup all the device settings including email accounts, texts,calendar,contacts and much,much more...
