Re: [ ROM ] [ KITCHEN ] JUICY 7 - Build 090525 (21234.5.0.1) [UC]

I seem to be having a couple of issues with Text Messages restored via MS My Phone.

1. Threaded messages are not in order

I've tried switching to classic and soft resetting, then back to threaded and soft resetting- but no luck...

Does anyone know how to order them properly?

2. Extreme slowness/freezing in Messaging app

Randomly, if I try to open and then close a message, and then try to tap a different message my phone freezes for 1-5 seconds...

I'm running Juicy_7_090525H and performed a hard reset after flash.

I've never used "MS My Phone" before, so I'm wondering if it's an issue caused by the restoring of 1800+ sms? Does anyone elss have these problems?

I do have both of the issues. I have about 300+ exchange messages and > 1500. I have just dealt with it. I have a twitter feed that I was able to reduce the # of messages and it helped some.

just curious -- in RSS hub, is there any way to enable finger-scrolling when you read a message?

Talking about RSS hub, anyone know where the settings might lay in case I want to copy them over to Sashimi?

thanks!

thanks!

I use these reg entries in my Sashimi\Auto\Reg Folder

Code:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ilium Software\RSS Hub]
"ChannelFileOnCard"=dword:00000002
"ChannelFilePath"="\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\RSS Hub\\ChannelData\\Channels.opml"

-My reg export has the "Options" entry as well, though I think these 2 might be all you need.

Just export what you have with your fav reg editor. (don't forget...If you have sashimi, you can use the fdcSoftTaskmanager, in the Bin folder, to export single entries. RescoReg makes you export the whole folder/key.)
Cheers.

Don't think there is a way to do that yet. I know it's been requested on the MyPhone user forums to select what folders and whatnot you want to be synced. I just saw it earlier today.

Eject your storage card, sync, put storage card back in :)
Leave pics unchecked for automatic sync, and check them when you want to sync from time to time.

Honestly, I don't use MSMyPhone for media. They only give 200Mb of storage and I have to clean up about that much every week.

I am having a problem (which I also had w/ the last rom) where if I try to use the search in either IE or Opera the browser crashes and it goes back to the home screen. On the last rom I believe I turned off flash and that helped, could that be the problem with this one too?

Everyne is going to have their own opinion. Depends on what you are after. If you want TF3d1 then go with Mikes, it is going to be much more stable. If you want to try something a little newer, try TF3d2 in Juicy's. Both roms are great. But everyone has their preferences. So only way to find out is try both and see!

I have tried both and always come back to Juicy. But that is just my preference. I don't even use TF3d1 or 2, I love the look of it but I find more use out of SPB Mobile Shell so I use that. But the features Juicy puts into the rom are what I go for. It just seems to work better for me, along with even though I use SPB, it still uses things from TF3d. So each his/her own!

Enjoy! Make sure to thank both chefs they both do great work.

can anyone help me out with a file? It's the file install that will enable to see all of the alphabets as a list on the far right, to enable to quick search, under the contacts screen. I've looked through the files in this thread, but cannot find it. if someone can load the file and let me know the file name that I should look for under files, I would appreciate it.

Idk where it is (if at all) in this thread but it's called Random Access.

Anyway, I set up my email again on it and now it says there is always 1 extra email received than actual. For instance, if I have no emails left unread, the notification bar says I have 1 unread. If i have 1 email unread, it will show the 1 unread next to my Gmail envelope on the right bar, but then show 2 unread on the bottom bar, and i have no other mail accounts.

Anyone know how to fix this?

It's the Outlook default account. Go to all messages and then tap on the inbox and go to Outlook Email. There will be an email in there from Microsoft about tips and trick or some such.

Get PHM Regedit for your Touch PRO. It works great for me. The other option is a solution that works on your PC and will use ActiveSync to read and edit the registry on your TP.

Just revert to the default dialer. Not a bad skin and everything will work just fine.

-'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Security / Phone / Skin'
-change the value of 'Enabled' from 1 to 0.

Hi all again, I am currently on Juicy's latest rom. But am having some issues of gmail set up. it apparently always default to pop3, and I cannot find the screen to auto check for connection settings, thus, I am always seeing "checking headers" when I click send and receive, and no problems with the password it appears, but no emails for gmail.

I did a search for gmail for this thread, but the only solution I found is the setting to uncheck auto set up, which I am not able to locate. Some others said there is a way to fix it and it takes 1 minute. Can someone point that out for me please? thanks in advance.

When you type in your email adress type xxxx@ggmail.com with 2 g's. Then you can manually set up IMAP.

You can use this methond that cchris81 gave or you could do this:

When you insert your email address type recent:username@gmail.com

with username being your email name. I did this and let it setup everything else and it started working. I had to delete the old account from my TP first but this worked and I receive email all day. Hope this helps. :)

Actually, Google has an article on how to do this for WM 6 and 6.1, which also still applies to 6.5 (follow the 6.1 instructions).

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...n&answer=78886

As they note:

* Windows Mobile 6.1 users: Enter an unintelligible email address (such as 'g@g') at this step. This will bypass the automatic configuration for POP access

Thanks Chris, lanzera, and shadow. when I saw that original thread dated 4/30. I just thought it was a typo for ggmail....haha

but it is now working as it appears, and no more checking for headers in a blank field. I think I am good. thanks to the great forum support as always. I think this is my favorite juicy 6.5 iteration thus far. faster than the one he released originally for sure.

one other question real quick. I tried to get the "random access vga" that juicy told me yesterday, so that when I use "contacts" for my left softkey, it will show the alphabets on the right side. I downloaded what it appears to be a zip file on xda. but when I unpacked it, it was just showing as folders, and no .cab. do I need to put those 2 folders somewhere, or did I download the wrong file all along? can anyone point me in the right direction?

Ditto! I've tried several including MM, and I can't really put my finger on why exactly, but I always come back to Juicy! This latest ROM is troublefree for me personally, but I am the same and don't use TF3D, and prefer Spb MS3.

However, half the fun seems to be trying new ROMs. I'd love to know how many people really find one and stick with it. Seeing how easy the chefs make it for us to flash, I'm thinking not many ;)

I have a few issues with this ROM that I'm hoping there are solutions for (I've already hard reset twice):
1. I cannot make any appointments on my calendar (I can't even open existing appointments from the home screen)
2. I cannot select a number to be dialed directly from the call history screen
3. I receive the same email messages multiple times. I also appear to be sending messages in triplicate. I'm using Emoze with google apps and this hasn't been an issue previously.

I'd appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions to correct these problems. (1) and (3) are dealbreakers for me.

Thanks
