I hate you lol. I mean i have loaded up the kitchen (with ssk1.1 and the new one as well), used and perused through BuildOs and seen the process of how it builds and then proceeds to flash the phone.....i even figured out how to add the OEM files for the TLR manilla and youtube apps that you posted in the previous thread!

but i trust you and will take your advice. dl'ing standard rom now.

fill me in on pros/cons to do this first if you dont mind brotha so i know when to promote myself to kitchen use. thanks again scotty!

Ha. Alright. A challenge. You got it. No need for me to zip up OEMs... They're all yours. All out-of-box from SSK 1.2. I have attached my BuildOS screenshot. If I can get this to work, then maybe I'll start adding in Custom OEMs.

Already in there chief. Thats why I think you are jumping the gun. Please try ROM first so you can see what it SHOULD do then play with kitchen until heart is content.

Haha Scotty I think you misunderstood me. I learned how to add them to the PREVIOUS kitchen (ssk 1.1). I know they are added in the new one cuz I loaded up BuildOs and saw them in there already! But yea I will flash standard then go from there.

Scan for virus files while I try to recook your selections. Its entirely possible that something is conflicting that I missed but unlikely as these are the same OEM's I used previous and never heard of this happening. Well, except to you ;c(

hahahhahaha yea dude i re-read what i wrote and i was like yea that sounded retarded.

anyways yea i pm'ed you a couple of times and am still running bone stock. and i feel like i have gotten proficient at the kitchen since all i do is play with it to get a feel for it before i actually flash. wanna make sure i know what im doing before i do it.

but your train of though makes perfect sense. since i am unlocking/flashing for the first time i shall try your standard rom for a few days.

to tell you the truth the standard rom may have everything i need and then if need be i can just cook one up later if i want the added progs and such (which is why i wanted to cook in the first place ya know).

I have AVG Free running always. No signs of viruses.

But what about this - the last 3 days of phone troubleshooting and flashing and not sleeping is sort of a blur (as i'm sure you can relate to) but i think that i first started seeing all these problems when i first cooked and flashed 1.1. Then I got scared and cooked and flashed a GC 2.1.0 ROM from his kitchen. and guess what - same thing happened. the problems were only fixed when I started using ROMS that I didn't flash myself... and the only OEM that carried over between those was your TLR Black Animated Manila OEM. So either it has to do with that specific OEM or maybe that means that there is something on my machine that is corrupting the BuildOS process? what could it be? which dlls are you referring to?

First I just want to say Thanks to Scott for what a great thing you've done accomplished for us VZW users.

I've used your VZN3.0 ROM and then the SSK1.1 ROM and been anxiously waiting until now see what you've next got up your sleeve! In the meanwhile, I've been trying to wrap my head around using your 1.1 kitchen. I've installed the buildos.msi and followed directions given in posts for other ROMs to move the .rar to OEM folder.. That didn't work so then I exchanged it for the unpacked .rar folder..

At this point, I've uninstalled and gotten rid of all traces of buildos to start fresh. Can someone please just give me a high-level overview of how to go about using Scott's kitchen? Please? i.e. Download X program / put SSK1.2 .rar or unpacked into X folder etc...

Sorry for the noob question, but honestly I've read and tried for a few hours now and I must be missing something incredibly simple. ](*,)
