Being a Sprint Only ROM PictureMail .2.5.7 and SprintTV 1.6.4.74603 are attached.
I try to keep any program that could/will be updated out of the ROM itself.



Cooked this one last night and was impressed enough to release it to anyone willing to try it.
Called "Skinned Cat" cause there's more than one way.
This is as fast as the later numbered SYS and is, at least will be(?), an "Official" release.



What It Is:
  • Surprisingly Fast, Is that a cliche yet?, Stable "Hybrid" ROM.

I'm game. Quick question, I don't see Voice Command. Is it in here? I have the cab to add it, but when I do, my button on my headset doesn't work to activate. Only seems to work when cooked in.

No it's not in there. I don't use it.

I had to change the page pool by modifying the HEX manually.
The tool didn't work.

Following the Tutorial and search for "06 15 A0 03 06 16 A0 13 00 10 83 e5 3e"

If it was based of eRice kitchen, you won't be able to use the page pool changer ..yet. I think his next version will allow it though.

Very nice ROM. So far so good with no bugs. Touchpad scrolling works surprisingly well. Ill post if any bugs work thier way to the surface.Thanks!

Thanks but as the name implies this will be my Final ROM unless there's some crazy bugs.
Or a new SYS is released that overclocks the phone to 1ghz and doubles the battery life (:

I'm really happy with the way this came together.

Found my 1st bug. Sloppy mistake since I knew about it, Sorry ):
An "Internal Storage" folder is created by mistake with cache folders and "My Documents".

Run the CAB file linked to in the 1st post, reboot, then delete the "Internal Storage" folder with file explorer.
The cab corrects the registry, but I don't know how to make the cab delete the folder, if it's possible.

I beleive you would have to use PROVXML type set up to delete the folder. You can issue batch style commands when you do that. Im no expert but I think it can be done.

Since my thread asking this was LOCKED and I was told to ask in the thread of the ROM I'm using, See how this works?!

Anybody having delayed text messages in the normal range of 12 minutes and picture messages being delayed by 24 hours?

No. Oh.. I guess not since I called Sprint and they confirmed there was an outage this weekend in my area.
Doesn't explain the other "outages" but my feeling is there's nothing in a ROM that could specifically do this.

Well My "Fin41" wasn't.

I just HAD to have a 21018 build so I hobbled one together with a fair bit of work, and it's incredibly responsive although the scrolling isn't as smooth as the 21931 build )':

Beyond the 21018 SYS not much has changed.
The focus is not only on speed but stability so I'm still using the older OEMs that have proven themselves to ME.

  • Calcu for the Kitchen
  • PPCKitchen for the "Little" extras

Found a bug:
Pocket Outlook is NOT working. Although mail is received it can't be viewed nor can new mail be written.

I had to flash back to my trusty 20931 this morning.
I'll get to trying to fix the TF3d mail problem.
It's as quick as they say, 20931 feels kinda blah now.

I'm not the first. |||bored||| released a "minimal" ROM a few days ago.

ya that darn lllboredlll never puts anything in his roms....I don't know what the hell is wrong with that guy...maybe one day he'll be a real chef and release a rom with something in it or even better a kitchen :)

I removed the link. I give up on trying to fix 21018.
I can not get email working with the "fast" SYSs.
I found a version that has working email but for some reason just dropping it into my kitchen gives a painfully slow ROM that I can't explain either.

Its kind of striped down Im having a bit of trouble myself. I fixed alot of things by adding working componets of other working sys. In anycase Im ready to give up myself. Only because I really dont think its that fast anymore its kind of laggy lol!!

S2A is driving me crazy.
I haven't found one without some bugs.

Also been playing with some new OEMs and converting cabs to xmls.
The rom after flashing is a little "cleaner" and smaller without the cabs.

Yeah, I had noticed the S2A problem but I just installed Juggalo's Black S2A cab and it seems to work pretty well. I'll check out the refreshed version.

Oh yeah, that was pretty bad.
Especially when/if you tried to add a contact after a call.
Plus it was HUGE.

The current included version is ONLY the slider without the curtains or "useless" buttons.

I like this ROM a lot - fast and not bloated. Thanks!

Only one thing, I use PocketSHield I think it is a great little app, so I installed .Net 3.5 and installed PocketShield but it doesn't work right, throws an error most of the time. It worked fine on other ROMs I've tried so I am not sure what other dependencies are. Anyone is using PocketShield with this ROM?

Other then that, no issues whatsoeever. I will run this one for a while.

I'll cook in .net3.5, instead of .net2, since I have an app that not working.

Thanks for all your time and effort.

Not sure if cooking in .net 3.5 would resolve my PocketShield issue though. I installed .net from a cab and then installed PS and it still gives me an exception - something about "sensor... blah... blah". I am not sure if any other dlls are different in this ROM from others. I'll try it on your next release though.

I'm on the new ROM now. The only change will be the XIP and the .NET.
My program is working.
I was getting a bitmap error iirc.

I totallt ran out of space on my coputer, I had to delete files to build the ROM.
i'm cloning to a larger drive so if all goes well I'll get the new version up tomorrow afternoon.
I want to make sure it's not going to have any strange issues.
