Nice work GC! I will check it out when I get home tonight! Great job parting ou tthe LBS Drivers. This could come in handy for those that want to use PPC Kitchen.

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

Those aren't the LBS Drivers, it's the extra OEM driver Verizon includes in their roms. LBS Drivers are different.

I should probably also say before people get confused... CARRIER CABS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED. The carriers are included in the kitchen as OEM packages. Choose your carrier in the kitchen and that's it. Do NOT try to install a carrier cab after you flash.

Will GPS/aGPS work normally with a Sprint device with bored's modified verizon PRI?

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

I've been messing around with this one but I still can't get Manila to work properly... I selected the verizon version again and landscape still has background image missing and the weather tab is all messed up... showing some ID's for all the labels...

I've been attempting to just use a diff manila OEM but can't really find a good one unfortunately... I tried the raphael manila from ppckitchen but it doesn't have touchflo on the today screen... will continue playing around with this... im desperate to get this ROM working because it is by FAR the fastest and cleanest out of all the ones I've tested.

was wondering... what manila do you use gc? or do you not cook it?

Oh, I thought you grabbed the LBS drivers. I misread.

Eitherway, its still nice work!

Yes, if you already have the modded PRI installed on your Sprint device, cook your rom WITHOUT the Verizon GPS driver (or if you're using the clean rom, use the Verizon rom, not the Verizon GPD rom). All should work perfectly.

The Verizon landscape manila issue is the only known issue. The OEM package is VERBATIM from the stock Verizon ROM, down to the last reg entry. I've tested EVERYTHING, and I've concluded that it's something to do with 20931/20954 builds. I extracted the 19972 Verizon stock XIP and SYS, and used it in my kitchen along with the same Verizon Manila OEM and there's no issue with manila. But as soon as I cook it with 20931/20954 it's there again.

FYI, I use the generic manila from the kitchen.

Yeah, the lbsdrivers are included in the Verizon carrier OEM by default. The Verizon OEM GPD package includes Verizon's OEMGPSONE.dll which is only distributed in the Verizon stock ROM.

Is the MMS confirmed working for Alltel in this kitchen?

One minor critic is on the Weather panel. It shows up with IDS in front of everything. It works fine, it just looks kinda hokey.

ya... I had that problem even with the generic one gc says he uses... I don't understand how I have all these problems and no one else does?

heh oh well.. anyways, I managed to find an OEM that works in the ppckitchen rar... it just didn't have the today registry settings in there but I hacked those in the rgu and everything seems to be fine now.. I give up on the vzw manila... I kinda like having all the shortcuts on one page anyways.

couple other questions tho gc...

what causes the beep when windows is booting?

what exactly is being run during customization? I checked to see if the autorun oem was in the kitchen but I don't see it anymore.. I usually remove this... it's not a big deal to have it reboot after first flash but just wondering if it's necessary.

thanks!

I don't know what it is, but when I run Mobile Matt's TF3D Blackberry theme (http://www.mobilematt.net/TF3D%20Skins.html) the phone hard resets itself on reboot. I have tried it twice with the same results. For now I will just hold off, but it is a little weird that a theme would hard reset the phone.

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

ok now im seeing some more weirdness with htc task mgr... when u click on the down arrow on today (in manila) which shows the tasks it is hiding manila and going to a black screen... also if I try and select today from settings it puts it on screen and manila takes focus.. have to have another app take focus first then load settings...

I included all of the required settings for Alltel arcsoft, though I've not been able to test anything with Alltel, as I am on Verizon. Let me know if you find any issues or bugs.

Hmm, it's weird, cuz I'm not seeing any of the weather panel issues. I'll look into it though.

The beep is because HTCStartupAnimation is activated, but there is no startup sound for Verizon. I use my own custom startup sound so I don't notice it, but I can fix the beep for people who don't want any sound.

If you don't use UC and don't have SDConfig.txt on your storage card, then nothing is being run. UC is included by default now, so all it does is look for SDConfig, and if it doesn't find it, it resets. So you don't need to reset manually after flashing.

Does it only hard reset when using that TF3D theme? My device hasn't hard reset on its own at all, and I've flashed dozens of times while testing.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your problem. Are you referring to HTC Task Manager in the top right corner or in the today tab of manila itself? Either way mine works fine. It could be the version of manila you're using. I use the generic version, and when I finger swipe on the today tab it hides the clock and shows everything. HTC Task Manager also works fine. Be a little more specific and I'll try to figure it out.

As far as Today from settings...are you referring to Start->Settings->Today? Again, it works fine for me. Let me know.

That error is caused if your X-VzW-MDN registry key is not set. Did you select the Verizon carrier in the kitchen? If not, then the proper arcsoft settings aren't set, including that key.

Your missing a provxml.

It runs fine on my 20931 and 20954. My version anyways. Its not the CE OS build.

EDIT: whose OEM are you using ofr TF3D VZW? If its the one that is posted on this board that is jacked up. If you didint part it out yourself dont trust it or assume.

I'll do an FC later on and try to help you figure it out if you are interested in help. Im more than sure you will get it on your own.

But yeah, its not a CE OS thing.

For the pagepool customizer are the available values static or dynamic?

Not sure what the deal is because I've tried everything to get it to work. At first I was using the OEM from here, but when there were issues found with it, I extracted it file by file, reg key by reg key, and provxml by provxml from the stock OEM out of the VZW ship rom. And like I said, using the same exact OEM package with 19972, it worked fine. It was only after going back to 20954 that the issue came back.

Hey guys, I flashed last night using the kitchen, all seemed to have gone well, but this morning after a full charge the TP wasn't able to wake up from sleep. I turned it on and it's stuck on the bootloader screen.
I've re-flashed using the same kitchen options but now the device is still stuck on the bootloader. Any ideas on what went wrong?

well i only flashed the regular rom found out it didn't have some of the stuff removed and reflashed with kitchen once. Never had the problem btw loving this rom. If i could get all the cabs separately though i would much rather have that and install stock rom

Ya I was seeing those id tags on the weather too which is why I switched to a different OEM for manila... I tried both the generic and the vzw one before I finally used one from the ppckitchen.

I saw this behavior on the manila OEMs from your kitchen and from the one I cooked from ppckitchen... I was referring to the "quick menu" option from the today screen in HTC Task manager... when you click on it, it pops up a list of all the running applications and you can close one or make it active... normally this would overlay on top of manila but when I was using it on your ROM it would hide manila, show a blank screen but popup the quickmenu just fine... It looked like the time from the taskbar was flashing in there too but I had that turned off... very strange.

I'll give things another go on your next release and play around a bit more.

Thanks!

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

okay the rom is wicked
just one problem
the storage memory can't be seen on my sprint tp on vzw network
all it can see is 124 mb where it should be almost double that

I expect the program memory to be low because of my pagepool (40 mb) but when I used this size for my previous build, my storage memory was the same (I believe 202 mb free). Otherwise GPS works fine and the rom is snappy

PP comes out of ram not out of rom .
What XIP did you use, verizon one?

figured about pp
I think I may have used the vzw xip but I simply used the kitchen throughout the process I didn't think the xip was different

hm, the kitchen has locked my phone up terribly. it will work great for about 8 hours? then the today screen will turn to the regular blue even though its set to green. then things will jsut not work. i try to open text messages from the start menu and it will say not found. after a soft reset and taking battery out ect ect phone just hangs at the please wait phone is starting up vzw screen. i have vzw tp in kitchen and i selected all stock options minus tf3d. i have gps fix installed and it is amazing btw 9 sats in about 5 sec. just thought id let you know im going to try a hard reset or to get to bootloader menu... off to find out how to do that.

keep up the good work

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

The ROM so far works great on the phone, one thing I did noticed though, is that the ROM size as gone all the way down to 93.43 MB. With the Stock ROM (Alltel) I would be at 340 MB.

Any idea?

I'm using the kitchen to build a ROM for the flash.

rhannahs19 01-08-2009 04:02 PM

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.0.0

when i load the verizon oem rom and it boots up i get an error saying setMMSMDN cannot be opened. just to let you know... im gonna try reflashing but we'll see. keep up the good work

edit: okay same thing happens with both vzw roms, maybe its my phone? i tried installing the carrier cab but wouldnt let me... i also am getting the originator address not found error as well... anything i can do to fix this?
