UPDATEING THE .PRL files ??
 

I currently live in califorina .. i have tethering on my LG glimmer " i up dated the .prl files to get EVDO speeds " hitting off sprint and verison towers out here "" .. ALTELL only suports 1x in califorina ... I need to Up date my .prl files etc on my NEW HTC TOUCH PRO so i can get evdo speeds out here ... HOW is it possible to UPDATE the .prl file i have for the LG GLIMMER and PUT IT IN TO THE HTC TOUCH PRO.. or am i stuck with 1kb up and 4kb down on the htc , LG glimmer runs as 1177 down and 700 up... " help please " thanks guys

I believe the phone comes with the most up to date PRL which is 30033, but all you have to do to update it is dial *228 and option 2.

ok i did that but its still running off the 1x network out here in califorina .... altel doesnt pay for evdo out here .. thats why i had to force the lg glimmer to hit off and use the Evdo network during tethering ... i have not activated my htc touch pro yet still doing tweks .. but as soon as i switch phones over i dont want to be stuck with 1x tethering on the htc ... its nice haveing decent speeds on the gl glimmer .. is there any other way ...

##PRL# or ##PRL send... make sure you got the PRL you want to install copied to your device in a folder....when the PRL update screen comes up just point it to where you got the one you want to use stored....beware.... you probably will see a roaming indicator once you do this.

thanks i am currnty roaming anyway .. bc i am out here in a califorina Ah ha .. no charge to the bill thanks i will give it a try and get back to you ... when i update this .prl will it effect the radio etc

Look at this web site. http://www.the-answerman.com/sidlist/prl/index.asp
It's Answermans site and he has all the latest PRL's for Alltel. The Pro comes with the most up to date PRL for phones, but there are different PRL files for data cards that can be used on phones and they enable EVDO in areas that Alltel doesn't have EVDO. He has instructions and which files you need. Hope this helps.
