Re: [ 11-10 ][ v4.2 ][ 6.5.x / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen & ROMs

Wow,
I just installed Calkulin's_Touch_Pro_23506_ROM_v4.2 with Spb mobile shell 3.5.3 and Mobile Sense
It is working great! faster and more stable than it has run in awhile.

Had to install it this way, as I wanted to try the MobileSense for spb shell and it wouldn't install as it didn't recognize the version that is included with the the ROM release versions.

Suggestion for upcoming releases. Add SU2U and phonelog. These are the other apps that I typically use.
SU2U is very helpful with the phone in the holder, not accidently calling people and phonelog records calls to the callendar (activesync keeps them in my outlook :-) )

Beyond normal bluetooth loosing sync with my Garmin and battery issues when I go someplace with no or little cell service. Things are great with this release!

Keep up the good work!

Cooked my own rom with Spb mobile shell 3.5.3 and Sense 2.5 last night and it is pretty nice.
Won't be my everyday use rom but still very nice.
I suggest if you cook a rom like this to also include Darkness231 Shell TF3D Titanium Switcher(LARGE MENU).
It makes it great switching from SPB/Sense/TF3D and Titanium.

Yes you do, but there is no VGA port version of it so you can use it as is.

Unless you need all the languages, either the 2nd or 3rd one. The 2nd one is compressed format but sometimes some phones don't play well with it. If you try it and things appear wonky or are not working, then use the 3rd option only.

If your unsure, then go with the 3rd option. :)

Does anyone has bluetooth issues? My phone will sometimes connect to my wireless headset and sometimes not until I soft reset it.

Thanks

My phone will loose sync with my Garmin 465t, that I bought for hands-free calling (law in Ontario, Canada), resetting the Garmin will frequently bring it back. Every so often, the Garmin will ask for the key again. I don't know if it is a Garmin or phone issue. As I have always had bluetooth problems, I would say it is a phone issue.

Is there a registry setting to fix phone searching?

The problem is:
When I am at someplace where there is no cell service, ie home depot, auditorium, basement of a large building.
the phone is constantly searching for a signal and drains the battery!
unless I think to switch the phone to "air plane mode" shutting off bluetooth and the phone radio, my battery will be dead in 2 hours.

For example. I went to a hockey game the other night. We got to the stadium at 4:00, my battery was at 75%, when we left at 6:45, my battery was at 20%!

I don't know if it is the phone searching for signal, bluetooth, activesync or what. I would just like it solved.

Thanks

What is the max data speed I can expect?
I have the Raph800 on Bell. Bell and Telus just upgraded the data network to the new 3g+, but my phone only gets 400k/sec as tested with a 1Mb file from dslreports

is there a radio rom update, or because the touch pro cdma is an 1xEV-DO rev A, I'm stuck at slow speeds? The specs says it is 3G capable, but whatever that means.

Thanks
