Thumbs up Re: [ 10-22 ][ v4.1 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

I just wanna say thanks for a 6.5.1 ROM that just works without any issues. No screwing around to get it set up, no windows live freezes or dialer problems. This simply works well and is a good deal quicker than NRG or Dodge comparables. Thanks!

Unplug your phone from the PC, then delete all sync relationships currently in Active Sync or Windows Mobile Device Center, then reconnect USB sync.

All good suggestions but no luck. I've used different cables. Installed AS on different systems, hard reset phone. Also bothers me that I'm not able to flash to another rom so I'm sort of stuck at this point. Other than that my phone works great! LOL

To flash to another ROM go into bootloader mode. On my TP I do a soft reset and simultaneously press the volume down & power hard buttons. Instead of rebooting, the phone will come up in bootloader mode (tri-color screen with hard-spl info). When I connect via USB, the 'serial' text at the bottom of the screen turns to 'usb' and I'm able to flash any ROM via USB.

But you can also flash by renaming the .nbh file to 'RAPHIMG.nbh' and placing it on a newly FAT32 formatted SD card (2gigs or less only) with no other files or directories present. When you reboot as if you were going into bootloader mode (soft reset while pressing volume down & power button) you'll get instructions on screen to press the power button again to install the ROM.

Hope it helps...

This I what I do most of the time with pre-cooked ROMs and I do it using my 90% full 4Gig SDHC.

Most important part is this for sure:
"...you can also flash by renaming the .nbh file to 'RAPHIMG.nbh' and placing it [in the root directory of a] FAT32 formatted SD card..."
Hope that makes life easier. Cheers.

Yes, but as I stated in original post, when I put in bootloader mode, it never changes from Serial to USB when I connect to any of my systems. All it does is start charging. I've also tried using a clean 2gb SD card with the rom image but when i get tri color screen, the gray screen just flashes so fast then it's back to tri color w/ no option to flash. Unless I'm missing something too obvious...this is really kicking my ***!!

Try going to Settings->Connections->USB to PC and seeing if the box that says "Enable faster data synchronization" is checked. If it is, then uncheck that box (it suggests you do so if the device is not recognized by ActiveSync).

OK, here's the update. I never have flashed from SD before, always did from PC. Well, I didn't catch the FAT32 formatted SD. It was formatted FAT and when I would go to Tri color screen, it never saw file on SD card. I just formatted it to FAT32 and copied image file back to it, power, vol down, reset and viola!!! Gray screen asking me to hit power to flash. Like I said, missed something too obvious took another 'PPCGeek'er to point it out!!! Love this site!!!!! O and I gave thanks to all who responded, I really appreciate your time and input!!

Good to know about the SDHC - I'd heard it wasn't possible to flash from those, but this is much better!
