ROM Dumping process

i got the instruction from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507

i wonder, if i want to have a clean clean stock dump (so just in case i have to send back to Bell for service), do i have to do a hard reset first, then dump? or i can just dump and it will get the base ROM?

and the instruction on that link seems to be for GSM phone. does it matter?

also, if i flash my ROM to a different version (let say sprint ROM), will it affect my network settings? and my radio driver?

Thank you.

P.S. after i do the dump i will upload the ROM for anyone else that is interested.

Re: ROM Dumping process

do a dump from a 100% stock device after a hard reset. then upload and contact me via PM with the link and i will cook it into a flashable stock rom.

also flashing a new os will not affect your radio.

you should be ok
most of that is held in NV. NV does not get touched when you flash an os.

however get us a dump. and we can include the bell operator package in the cooked roms.

also, just a side question, GPS is related to the Radio driver right? and flashing ROM doesnt' affect the Radio, and shouldn't affect the GPS ability?

dumping the rom right now, as i'm doing it now, i am a bit curious about what is part00, part 01, part02, part 03?

it seems the part02 is the ROM to load when hard reset is done... and part03 is the internal storage for operating system... what's part00 and part01?

Instructions are same, GSM or CDMA. It is not necessary to hard reset first. Flashing a rom for another carrier can do all sorts of things - don't do it unless you know your stuff. Radio are radios, however - you can flash any radio made for your hardware regardless of carrier (note that the vzw tpro has different hardware than other CDMA tpros).
