Cab file to make TXT, MAIL, Internet, etc Keys Mappable?
 

I have to ask. I tried using AE Button Plus, and its horrible. I like that nueRom had this built in, but i didnt like the rom.

From what I have gathered at first glance, it seems like the changes to make this possible are registry edits.

Does anyone have any insight into making this work? It seems like this should be an installable option for any rom. Hitting the txt key on accident while trying to press the FN key, and losing most of text message gets kind of annoying after the 100th or so time lol.

good question. I stayed on No2chem's rom for awhile b/c of that. I'd like to have this feature.

Ok well might as well put some time into this myself lol.

Key Codes
Button

TXT = 00E9
Mail Icon = 00EF
Internet Icon (SYM) = 00E6 is the SYM key, i am not sure what if FN+SYM produces a different code, but I imagine so.

I am going to start looking in the registry for these keys to be defined.

OR have No2chem put out a new rom. That was the best feature in his rom, but his roms haven't run that well on the TP.

have you tried mapping the TXT or the mail icon key? it will open what you set it to, as well as bringing poutlook right after it. kinda defeats the purpose.

I too think that AEButton is horrible.I was wondering if anyone knew how to map one of those keys to be "ok" instead of having to reach all the way up on the screen to hit ok after texting using the keyboard. TIA

Not really sure what you mean by this. I'm running 217 on my pro right now and it's great.
