Anything like DereknJenny's custom ROM?

I have the original Sprint Touch and am still using DereknJenny's last ROM. I haven't changed ROMs because his ROM is clean and has only the HTC stuff and none of the Sprint crap. He didn't add any of his programs to it either. It was just plain WM6 w/ the HTC apps. for the Touch.

Are there any custom ROMs yet for the Touch Pro. like this one for the Touch?

I installed BuildOS and updated it. All I want is the stock Sprint Touch Pro. ROM, but with some changes:

- Update all of the HTC stuff (for the ones that do have updated versions)
- Update Java
- Update Opera Browser
- Add latest / stable video drivers (Omnia or D3D or both?)
- Add my copy of MagiKB Lite
- Add my copy of PIEPlus
- Add Adobe Flash
- Add that battery-life fix / fast charge thing that everyone else has been adding to their ROMs recently and other battery life tweaks
- Disable SMS sent confirmation
- Disable that nag about customer feedback

- Remove:
ClearVue Presentation
Jetcet Print
Live Search
Messenger
Getting Started
Touch Mobile Guide
MP3 Trimmer
Software Store
Sprint Music
Sprint TV
Titan
Windows Live
WorldCard Mobile
Zip
Teeter
Bubble Breaker
Solitaire
Astraware Solitaire

Basically a stock ROM with all the HTC stuff and none of the Sprint stuff and some of the extra apps..

Are there simple instructions on how to do all of this? I went to PPCKitchen.org and read some threads, but didn't really find one giving detailed step-by-step instructions on how to do all this.

I'm pulling my hair out in frustration here. I'd pay someone to make this for me or help me make this ROM.

Come on. It's not hard to read post #1 of the various rom threads. Worse comes to worse, grab a kitchen and make exactly what you want.

You can read post #1 of each ROM thread, but you really need to read feedback from all those who have tried the ROMs.

Don't know how to use those kitchen things. Seemed complicated last time I took a look at it.

It is, don't let the nerd types fool you into believing it's easy as 123. It can be rather straight forward if you want a very basic rom with "whats in the box", but if you want a rom tweaked, it's very techy and in depth.

Still though, that doesn't stop you from reading the notes and comments from people about the individual roms. It doesn't take to many pages to get a feel for the rom style and if it fits your style or not.

Okay then problem solved. go into each ROM thread and read what has been removed from the ROM, what was left/added in and read user feedback. it isn't that difficult to find the information yourself.

I didn't say it was difficult. It's time consuming though. I won't go into the reasons why I don't have time to read everything.

Looks like I'll be stuck with the stock ROM until I can take another vacation.

I'll agree it is time consuming. But, so is standing in line at a store on Black Friday. The point is, people do what is necessary to get what they want. I don't think anyone is trying to give you a hard time but the info you seek is easily available with very little effort.

Then you obviously didn't really read up on to many roms because most if not all of the custom roms are exactly this. If you did and still didn't find what you are looking for then your best bet is to read some more on custom rom making because that is your only other alternative. Some of these rom cooks are new and so there might be some initial problems but they are all pretty quick on fixing them. It's your choice though.

I've looked at many of them and all had extra apps. that the chefs liked so they added those apps. to their ROMs.

Well its understandable that you dont want all the bloated stuff but if you are willing to stay with the sprint stock rom then you really are missing out on some wonderful custom roms that these chefs have created over the last few months. Most if not all of the custom roms have by far less bloatware than the sprint stock rom and there are even roms out there that are so clean they doesn't even have touchflo on it. The reality is when it comes to using a custom rom it will never be 100% suitable for what you may need because its someone elses creation so if its that big of a deal then using the kitchen will be your only option.

Edit: You should look into electronicrice's clean rom. Its bout the cleanest rom on here, its as basic as it gets. If that don't work then I don't know what else to say other than just learning how to cook roms yourself. I would post a link but I am at work and this work computer is a POS.
