CDMA or GSM... We are a brotherhood at PPC Geeks... It shouldn't matter what you use or what it connects to... That was genius for you to create the GSM Touch Pro Upgrades sub-forum...

True we are all a brotherhood. Even though the GSM brothers ride the short bus. They are special and need our attention. It seems that we could share some of our hacks and reg edits are they correspond to changing the base os/rom rather. I will admit I am running a cab file that was designed for a GSM phone. The HTC HD.

My old geography teacher used to pretend he was ordering hamburgers at a drive-thru by talking into the thermostat on the classroom wall. He use to do it atleast three times a week and thought he was just hilarious because he never figured out that we were laughing at him, not with him.

Hello, I am a brand newbie at this, bigtime, and I'm sure with my luck I'm not posting this in the right section. But I've looked on here for 4+ hours tonight trying to decide what ROM would be best for me? I am coming from the XV6800 and just upgraded to my Touch Pro. I have Verizon service and (if possible) without losing a lot of the preloaded software that comes with the phone, I would like to get more free program memory for installing / running future programs and most importantly speeding up the device itself. I'm also interested in using the GPS feature if that is still available / working in any of these ROM's, for use with like Google Maps, etc. Again I apologize if this is totally in the wrong section and will gladly repost in the proper area. Also thanks in advance for anyone who can help / point me in the right direction /clear things up for me.

Also, to add to the above post.....I haven't even turned this phone on yet (service wise), is there anything important I should do to it up front before I start modifying it or loading my stuff on it? All suggestions are welcome. Again, sorry for being a newbie. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Will the easy button work on a CDMA TouchPro or only the GSM?

Try using Google or the search button on here before you ask questions. A quick basic description is, it is the type of frequency used by a cell phone company. Alltel, Sprint, Verizon, Cricket, MetroPCS...and a few others use CDMA, so all of their phones have to be CDMA to work. GSM is used by AT&T, T-Mobile, and pretty much the rest of the world. So, all their phones have to be GSM to work.
