Manila 2D/3D Control... soon or maybe now.

Check this out.... It allow you to switch between manila and your today screen much smoother than with secondtoday.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else. This has already been implemented into some roms. It should work for GSM or CDMA versions. I found a rom but I am not able to decompile it to extract the OEM although someone at XDA has done this. If any rom experts would like to assist please let me know if you need the rom.

Edit: For anyone interested, this app has been released. Mastsogo, the author only asks to not have it mirrored and only point to the thread so I'll respect his wishes. Check it out at XDA.

I saw that earlier. But didn't think nothing of it. It would be a good today screen switcher , so you don't have to go through all the step to activate manila.

It's probably a little more complicated than just an oem. I would assume touchflo might have to be modded a bit.

I don't think it's nothing more than an OEM. I read the thread over at XDA and one user posted that he downloaded the rom and easily extracted it. I have the roms but I'm not experienced enough to break down roms that result in having the OS.nb and OS.nb.payload files. If anyone could assist me with that I'll try to extract it myself.

I'll try it tomorrow if I have some time. Have you tried using bepes tools to pull apart the rom?

Yes I have. I end up with a Temp Folder with the files I mentioned above and a Rom folder with an OS.nb file in it.

I sent the link to the ROM to Juggalo. He said that he'd see what he can do. I guess he'll try to decompile the rom to see if he can extract the OEM. There's also a thread over at XDA with people waiting for the release from the author of the program.

the rom is locked, the same way i lock mine. its to much work to sort it out. i dont have the time, nor am i a thief. wait for a official release :)

Re: Manila 2D/3D Control... soon or maybe now.

I understand if you don't have the time or desire to extract the program but I would hardly consider doing so stealing. Poeple extract content from roms all the time to use on other devices and I'm not trying to extract the program and call it my own. I just think it's a great concept for people that want to use a Today Screen & Manila without having to disable it. But thanks anyway for at least looking into this. Any other help is welcomed.

Doesn't seem to work on mine with JD's latest ROM. Same symptoms when I tried to make changes to my manilla files. The TouchFlo 3d option just disappears and doesn't start. Probably needs to be signed correctly or something...

I am running JD's latest and I got it to work by going into Start->Programs->MC-> MC Config
Hit Menu left soft button, Config.... make sure Manila 3D is selected.. It's defaulted to 2D.

Then Ok and it's good to go

I installed this last night and it was working ok. But today every time I received a call, the screen would come up without contact's pictures or info. Just the white screen with the buttons. I soft reset, same thing. I uninstalled it and everything was fine. Oh yeah I only had rss hub on the other today screen. Also my manila clock was frozen when I woke up this morning but this could be unrelated I won't know until tommrow.

Funny thing I was having the problem with my caller id pictures also but had installed several apps and was not sure which one was causing it(thought it was touch lock pro) I uninstalled several of them including manilla control and it did not fix. I ended up doing a restore. I have now added back manilla control and Touch lock and neither of them have broken the id pictures yet been a day.

Pretty slick app. Few quirks tho. Like overnight, it'll turn off TF3d and switch it to the WinMo. Home screen. For the convenience, I think I can live with that.

Re: Manila 2D/3D Control... soon or maybe now.

I have noticed that notification in TF3D do not update properly when you have it set to start with manila. If you let it start at the today screen and start manila on your own then the notifications work fine.

i had the same problem. after a soft reset you need to make sure you go to windows today and then back to tf3d. everything works after that....
