Relocking problem
I unlocked my touch pro tonight with the regular 037 process. Worked fine.
I was really just testing it out. I didn't install any custom roms. The phone boots and acts the same as OEM. My phone has some weird lines across the screen and since it is only 4 days old, I figured I would take it back to the store and swap it out. When I run the relock program, It takes me to the boot loader screen, says USB at the bottom, then the PC gives me error code 284, update error. Then it takes me into recovery mode. Thankfully, I can just hit the reset button and things are fine. But, folks on the forum have scared me about taking it back to the Sprint store without relocking. I tried a hard reset. Didn't work. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |
Re: Relocking problem
I took my Mogul back to a sprint store with nueROM3 and nueSPL. They even saw it booting and they didn't care at all. You likely won't need to bother relocking to get an exchange/repair.

Re: Relocking problem
No offense to Sprint support, but even most Sprint techs will largely be clueless as to the state of the SPL. But that doesn't mean that if they do catch it/know about it, they won't do anything about it.
Try this: make sure that your computer is okay with the drivers needed to communicate with the phone when it is in bootloader mode. boot up the phone in bootloader mode, and then connect it to the PC. If you still get the error, its probably a driver issue. Make sure you have the latest version of WMDC/ActiveSync. If you don't have any errors (the phone will say USB on it and the PC shouldn't have any new hardware stuff icons in the taskbar) then it was probably a one time error and you can just retry the process. If you are still having errors, try doing the above procedure on another computer (make sure that it can connect via activesync as well). Good luck. |
