Restore to Factory

Is there a way to backup the unit before the first flash?

Is there a stock ROM to be found?

The search function does not seem to like the words I am using to search.

Re: Restore to Factory

You can use software like SPB or Sprite backup. However, its generally not a good idea to do a restore to a different ROM than you backed it up on. There are different registry settings (for example) that can cause issues if you restore it to a new ROM.

If you plan on flashing ROMs regularly, you should look into UC or Sashami to make your restore to your configuration much faster.

Is there a general guide somewhere on creating your own ROM?
