Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

Anyone have trouble syncronizing with AS? I can't get it to sync. I keep getting the "USB Device not Recognized error". I tried uninstalling AS and reinstalling and no luck. I unchecked the enable advanced functionality too and no go.

Can someone tell me if Sprite Backup will successfully restore a newly flashed(hard reset) phone to the state it was prior to the flash/hard reset? I'm assuming it will restore the registry but then that doesn't do me much good because I'd be missing all the associated installed cabs. If sprite backup does this then I'd have no need to learn sashmi or whatever that program is.

My big issue is I've done the custom evdo/start/bluetooth etc icons, and I always put the sprint neon icons on, battery % fix and bmp cover, etc and just want to find a way to allow me to restore these with the least amount of headache everytime I flash a new rom. I find I flash new roms quite often with phones because I love to tinker.

I was having a problem with the kitchen (hesitation and slow motion when accessing programs after a keyboard slide out) so i decided to re-flash Jd's Rom. To my amazement i had the exact same problems. So then i re-flashed the stock Sprint Rom and all my problems went away. Is anyone else seeing these problems?

i use sprite each time i flash a new rom and it restores all my programs and settings and registry changes. i just make sure to pick merge level 1 and works perfectly.

Ok, so does that also mean it'll bring over edited manilla files and edited dll files from the windows folder? Where is the merge level 1 option? Is that an option during restore?

Sounds like this means it'll do a perfect backup, hmmm.

you can use sashimi to have it copy certain files over to whatever folder you want as well...like the icons, sprint neon icons, battery fix...its really quite simple. You put your cabs in the cab folder, the .reg's in the reg folder, the xml's in the xml folder, then in the root folder you say what directory you want the files to go. ie. /windows or /program files/sprite ...I would recommend checking it out...

Edit: I use it to bring over the edited manila files i use every time like for the clock opening klaxon, the calendar opening thumbcal and contacts opening icontact...sashimi copies over the files and it works..

So nobody else uses sip change? I can't figure out why it wont stick after a soft reset. I'm using sip change and pcm keyboard.
