Hey just dropping a line to say, glad to hear most of downtown Nash is open for business (heard that on the radio yesterday) even here on the plateau (Cumberland county), the news has been fairly silent about the extent of the flooding / damage. The first I heard anything major was Monday last week, got an email saying the regional office (US Bank tower at 4th and commerce) is closed indefinitely.

I was in Nashville yesterday and traffic is flowing pretty normal again. I think the lower 1st and 2nd avenues are still closed off but I didn't go that far down. Funny.. I was at the US Bank tower. All the roads where I live (Clarksville) are open again since Sunday night.

Ha! You're right. They're open. Not that anyone really works there much. All my team is remote, anyway (One in Hermitage, one in Murfreesboro, two in Crossville, and one around Augusta, GA)

So, anyway, about connecting to shared resources: File Explorer -> Menu -> Go to -> Open path. . .

Has never worked for me on this or any ROM. Is it supposed to?

I'll check into it.

Curious. I did look into changing settings in Settings -> Connection -> Connections -> Advanced (My listings are "My ISP" and "My work network")

Allegedly File Manager tries your Modem / VPN / Proxy coonnection first and then the wireless adapter. This seems to work for things like Opera (as long as I choose "Internet" as what the connection connects to) but nada on any \\host\share. If I choose "connects to work" nothing works at all.

Then I'm led to understand I'm not going to be able to connect to a *nix samba share in any case, so I try a windows host. Same results.

I did read recently that it was picky on the sharename, I'll rejigger (yes, that IS the technical term) and report back.

No dice on the rejiggering.

Yeah I read and tried the same thing with no luck. Resco File Explorer that I use works fine with shared folders. I'm not sure if I'll get this to work any time soon. Some people seem to have no problem with it and others are having the same issue we are.

This isn't necessarily an important thing anyway. I mean stinkin' iphone people have to email stuff to themselves-- well, for the most part. So, no need to exacerbate the embarrassment of riches.

Yeah. I almost never use wifi. If I need something off the phone I'll plug it into ActiveSync. There is a program I use (listed in post #2) called Wifi Remote Access which allows you to use a web browser to interact with your phone. It's not the same as sending files to a share but might be worth a look.

While I miss Sense 2.5, this is clean, fast and stable so far. Hope it stays that way after a lot of usage. Thanks! :)
