Should I do it, buddy?

Ok, was using the same cab for MMS that I used in all the other roms without any problems. It was Arcsoft Alltel MMS 5.0.69.44. Switched to ArcSoft 5.0.71.33 Alltel (with was a much bigger pita to set up) and the sound issues have gone away, at least for now.

Since I seem to be such a glutton for punishment, I downloaded MaxRootRomCombo02082010_23518 and am going to dance to that, I hope. I like those builds, and 2.5, so I'll give it a shot. If it all works out it should show that for some reason there's an incompatibility between your roms and that first arcsoft alltel cab.

Allrighty then.

Flashed to stock via activesync.
Flashed to MaxRootRomCombo02082010_23518 via the SD card (it let me, so WTH.)
Running super smooth. Have not enabled max (yet).
Tested MMS ootb after changing server to alltel, tiny pics again.
Tried installing the newer arcsoft over the top of everthing. Failed. No permissions. Guess you have to run the remove pic mail and arcsoft cab first, at least I tried.
Ran the remove cab stated above.
Ran the newer arcsoft cab, SR.
So far, so good. SMS works with sound. MMS works, with sound. Ringer works.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

YES. Good gawd YES!!!! :headbang: :headbang:

root ROCKS. Dunno about better Landscape, I *think* their ROMs are the same in this regard(?) but root is, without question worth the flash.

Enjoy. Be careful though- you may become like me, unable to pick just one, and be stuck in Perma-Flash :spin:
I need two phones! :)

And I really miss my quicklinks. Any way to get them back on 2.1?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed on the latest 2.5 release (020810), there is no programs tab.

- Is there any way to add that through a cab or something?
- I'd like to have more than 6 quicklinks in my homescreen. How do I add the 12 (or more)?

Thanks in advance!

There are 3 2.5 ROMs-which one? His ROM descriptions say there is a Program Tab for Maxroot and MaxDusk but I believe he removed it and has not had time to update the ROM description. Could be wrong on that as I'm on the MaxSilver so I dont know about the others. There is no Program Tab on MaxSilver (the ROM or the description)
Generally:
There is no Program Tab cab afaik, it's gotta be cooked in in the kitchen.
All the Max 2.5 ROMs have the MaxManila mod included as an option.
This will give you multiple quicklinks under the clock in the Home Tab.

Go Start/System Tools and find Enable Max. Run the cab(s) found there and you should be golden. If you are not familiar with the Max settings you can read about them here:

I posted about removing programs tab but I did forget to change dl page.
Search back a few pages and you will find a public beta app that will add two pages of shortcuts. ;)

Probably a dumb noob question, but I'm running
MaxRootRomCombo02082010_23518
and CeRegistryEditor picks this OS up as 5.2.23515

???
