Re: [4-7-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [rc9][STABL-ER]

Also, update on my kernel test- using the stock kernel I'm currently at 64% battery after 1 hour and 41 minutes, pretty light use (couple phone calls and some light internet usage when i haven't been at my laptop). Been on 4G or WiFi the whole time.

Re: [4-7-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [rc9][STABL-ER]

edit: After an hour and 41 mins?? That's not that great... I'm gonna run my own test for about a week and see where it gets me with the stock kernel. Then I'll do Tiamat non-SBC. I am a little tempted to flash an SBC though lol

Well, made the jump to RC9 after completing RC8 yesterday. Still updating and getting a few things in place, but overall ready to go. I will post more when I get a chance utilize it.

Just flashed RC8 last night, but I'm game, I will flash RC9 tonight a bit later and see how it goes after it stabilizes over the weekend. Solid work on this ROM, thanks.

Great! Thank you!

I'm always of the opinion that it can't hurt. Just make sure you install some sort of battery monitor widget. Keep an eye on the temperature and whatnot, then if it's overheating too much, go non-SBC.

I'd recommend having the .zip of both the SBC and non-SBC on your SD card just like what I was talking about (though I only use SBC myself)

Re: [4-7-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [rc9][STABL-ER]

deck,

I don't know if you meant to leave out gmail but I am not finding it in your gapps. I guess I never noticed because I have been using dark horse theme for the last few days. I verified this with your 4-5-11 gapp (talk or no talk) and your 3-18-11 gapps. your 3-18-11 has gamil.apk in there but it is not in either of your 4-5-11.

was this done on purpose?

thanks...tannerj

Also I've decided I'm going to completely kill this charge before I switch kernels. Hoping this hits 8 hours before it dies :/

this was on a stock cm kernel a while back. many optimizations and tweaks for stability and whatnot have chewed some of our battery life away which i am actively trying to restore on these latest rc's.

Thank you for all the hard work that you've put in on the original CM code to bring us this sleek and wonderful AOSP rom. I've got two things to cover...

1) I saw that you said you wanted to learn why the GPS fix works, even after wipe. I came to your rom from Myn's Warm 2.2. There is a "Non-sense" zip that you can download that completely removes some details from that Rom so it "feels" more Vanilla. I discovered that when this fix is in place (even though it doesn't REALLY remove Sense, just details of it), the GPS fix doesn't work. I had to load a previous Nandroid from before the fix to help. That might help you narrow down what area of Sense is actually being affected with the GPS Fix in the code itself.

2)I've been with you since RC6 but I've only just registered to mention these things. Tethering works. 4G work. 4g+Tethering does NOT work, however. Is this a known problem or is there a fix within RC9 or future releases?

Thanks again for all the work you've done!
as for the zip about gps, i will look into that and see what i can find. also, 4g + tethering is being worked on as well. should have a fix soon.

When I flashed to RC9, I wiped everything twice so I know there was nothing from the previous ROM.

Do you know what is causing this to happen.
this is a bug in the tmo theme engine. just click the home button if it takes you back to the login screen.

actually i did. install gmail through the market. along with the other missing gapps. installing some of them to the system partition was causing some apps not to work i.e. flash.

hope this helps.

Re: [4-7-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [rc9][STABL-ER]

sorry if this was already answered but is there a way you could put a wimax toggle in drop down bar in stead of the music or sound or just add it. please and thank you Deck
